So glad I've been happily out of the game for 30+ years. Honestly, if something unforseen were to come along and change that, I'd probably just stay out. I'm getting too set in my ways to try and adapt to a new person anyhow. My wife and I have each other trained pretty good.

Yes. 100% accurate. I had a woman flip out on me on one of the sites once because I declined her offer of nude photos in exchange for amazon cards.

Dating in your 40's is worse.
Dating in your 30s is berkeleying horrible .
Amusingly from what I've heard the dating sites are actually much more useful in your 40s as a man because after 35 the dynamic changes and women have to put in effort using them instead of making an account with a picture and waiting for the messages to roll in.

Actually, I went to Tractor Supply yesterday and the young woman in line in front of me convinced me that, if single, this is the site I would go to first! (Shhh, don't tell my wife I said that.)
Theres something to be said for farm girls. They're sturdy, not these pixie ass little waifs everyone chases. They can likely fix a tractor, a door, your dinner, and drinks. Can probably drink you under the table, and kick your ass. No bullE36 M3 pretense, and let's face it, chuck enough bales of hay and you're in shape

The wife and i also met through Yahoo about 20 years ago.

I suppose its better than ranwhenparked.com.
One of my coworkers from many years ago dated a dairy farmer’s daughter. He said that girl had de-nutted cows and pigs.

This is actually true.
There is actually some science to support this theory. Women's attractiveness peaks earlier than men's. Men have a stronger ability to age gracefully than women. Men can become 'rugged' whereas women can become 'rough'. This is why older men can often pull younger women coupled with female's natural tendencies toward hypergamy (looking for security and 'someone better'). Intersexual dynamics is a fascinating topic.

I didn’t say a better choice, I said for getting attention! Ok Cupid’s data shows that controversial people are more successful at getting dates. Take two people that are rated 7/10. The one that gets 7/10 from everyone (cute) doesn’t get as much attention as someone who gets a mix of 5 and 10 ratings (hot, but not to everyone). The people who like something controversial like it a lot, whereas the cute kids are just attractive but don’t push anyone’s buttons in the same way. When it comes to dating, that means you should show off your piercings and tattoos and let your freak flag fly. When it comes to putting together a show car, it means it’s better to go with a riskier color choice on the wheels because those who like it will like it a lot.
This is paraphrased. The article is on the OK Cupid website amongst others. Really interesting read.

Bit of a rude awakening to see myself well into the wrong side of this bell curve

I'm in the same boat, though it's amusing to see that my wife is at essentially the exact same point (with the same general declining curve for a while) since she's a fair bit younger than I am...

If I'm still single in my 40s, I'm just giving up and dating myself.
Then you are a catch. I am so fat and ugly, I would never date myself

This says I am at peak sexiness which is also pretty depressing...

This pretty much explains the last 15 years of automotive styling in a nutshell, as opposed to the 15 years before that.
That plus the growing Chinese market.
Then there's the Aztec case, where nobody likes it at all I seem to recall one of the embattled Pontiac folks pointing out that not everyone liked the New Beetle either - but at least someone did!

Congratulations for achieving your peak. It's all downhill from here.
I'm curious. What are the units for sexual value? I can come up with quite a few, but they'd probably get this thread locked.
