+1 to Borderlands. TONS of fun!
Red Dead Redemption! It's like Grand Theft Auto, but with horses instead of cars :D
And if you like zombie stuff, it has an add-on pack called Undead Nightmare...

Big +1. And big +1 for Red Dead. Can't wait for another one to come out. Wifey and I really like the Fable series too. I'm not big into the whole 1st person shooter thing. I'm bored to tears in about 5 minutes.
Castlevania for xbox 360 might be the best game of that genre I've ever played. Seriously.
Halo, Halo 3, Halo Reach, Halo ODST, Borderlands, Portal, Portal 2
Portal is very neat maze like problem solving game that just happens to look like a shooter. You even use a gun but you don't shoot bullets, you shoot portals and then jump through one and out the other one. It can be really trippy jumping into a portal from a high ledge and being rocketed out of the other one that was placed high up on a wall (ie. your momentum carries through the portals)

+1
Assasins Creed is a great series as well. Dirt 3 is pretty good. I don't get into the shooter games as much.
If you like sports games, NBA 2k11 was a huge step forward in NBA games. I still play it like crazy because of just how good it is.

Borderlands will eat your soul. I have well over 80 hours into that game, when really, it's about 20 to finish it. And i'm not even close to done with all the side crap.
Borderlands has the second play-through with the difficulty turned up and you get to keep all your loot from the first play-through. I wished I'd played that game with 4 people. It would be chaos!
Oh, if 1st person shooters bore you, turn up the difficulty. Nothing like all the baddies whooping your butt to make you want to exact your revenge.
It's probably the best game i've ever played.
I need to go home and wipe my save file and play it again now that i have all the expansions. Many MANY hours of gameplay.
I got about halfway through Borderlands and lost interest. Just stopped appealing to me. Now, Fallout 3 and Red Dead Redemption, that I played the E36 M3 out of.

The results are in. It says, "You are a horrible person." We weren't even testing for that.
Spent last night playing Portal 2 for the first time. Even better than the first one. The recorded announcements are hilarious.
Is XBOX Magazine worth it? I picked one up off the newsstand yesterday (holy cow, $10!!?!) since it had a game demo disc, then it said they all have one (poop). I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but are they any good? The articles and reviews seemed pretty good and high-content (and mirrored a lot of the sentiments here).
Welp, it'll just die.
play as much as you can! BUT great machine when it actually does work Race Pro and Forza are the main ones to get, the other guys named all the ones I had so theres a good list for you. Fallout is insanly awesome!!
Dirt 3, LOVE that game, starting my second time on the game, already beat it. I guess i'm the only guy on here that thought the gymkhana was a challenge at first but just irritating through the game then because it just got boring and not much of a challenge. I also think it should have been an extra. The DLC is awesome to.

It's not my machine, so if it dies I'm not the one having it fixed
(The situation is a good friend of mine is getting married Saturday and just moved into an apartment with his fiance. He has a PS3, XBOX360, Wii, and a killer water-cooled PC. She said make some room and he knows I've been itching to play XBOX, so I know have his on extended loan.)

I was just about to say RacePro - that's another really good racing game, which takes itself pretty seriously, allowing for suspension/alignment tweaking and has what feel like me to be a pretty good physics model. It lacks the polish of Forza 3, but is still a good time. It's also pretty inexpensive ($20 new, $10 used).

I haven't read a paper gaming mag in forever, since their content tends to be behind/too mainstream for what i'm looking for (Do i REALLY need a 75th review on Madden? NO.) So I can't really comment on it- but I do follow www.ign.com pretty regularly to figure out what's out there and what I may be interested in.
Also, I'm sorry but I forgot who asked-
Borderlands 4 player 3rd playthrough. HOLY E36 M3. That is all.

What's yur gamer tag, I might wipe my file so I can go through it with you! My girlfriend and I are on our second playthrough with all of the DLCs.
...if you DL movies at all on your computer make sure to network the thing and setup the xbox to stream from your computer... I'm watching james may's man lab on the big screen instead of the computer right now :)...
as for games... red dead redemption was fun the few min I played it... and comparing it to grand theft auto but in the old west is right on...
right now i'm playing halo3 and forza3... got forza 2 for my son to play ($3 and no chance of him messing up my 3 settings)
one nice thing of coming late into a system is you can get used games for cheap... :)...
