What is the best Mel Brook's movie?
Blazing Saddles.

back when you was slaves, you sung like birds..
is it twue what they say about your kind? it's twue! it's twue!
What did you expect? "Welcome, sonny"? "Make yourself at home"? "Marry my daughter"? You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.
Ooh, that's a tough one.
I have a tough choice between Blazing Saddles and History of the World Pt. 1

I thought about posting that EXACT same thing, but HotWP1 is hilarious, too.
It's good to be the King.
Mel Brooks hasn't had a good movie after Silent Movie and Young Frankenstein. Anything else is a symptom of senility.
History of the World, Spaceballs and Young Frankenstein are all pretty strong contenders, but they all must take a backseat to Blazing Saddles. There's not a single performance in that movie that could have been improved by having anyone else in the role. Every frame of the film contains at least one well-crafted joke, and the comedy is utterly fearless.

This. And anyone who said "Spaceballs" needs to actually watch "Young Frankenstein" and "History of The World, Part 1" first. It's the only way you can earn the right to watch "Blazing Saddles".

Sorry baby, six schitzengrubens is my limit.
Hedley: So, what's your crime?
Bart: Stampeding cattle.
Hedley: That's not much of a crime.
Bart: Through the Vatican?
Hedley: OOOOOH! Kinky! Sign here, please.

I can't formulate a strong vote for "best". Guess I need to watch them all again as soon as possible...

I can vote for this...
The original (couldn't find the video..grr.), Marlene Dietrich in "Rancho Notorious", 1952: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oX0BCvHaMak
The satire, Madeline Kahn in "Blazing Saddles", 1974:
