Rim is good, drove for 15km (10-ish miles with a bit of fudging) on that shredded tire. I was shocked the rim was fine, but like I said, we took it slow.
Moral of the story is, if you keep the speeds down and are willing to sacrifice a tire, you aren't stuck with a flat for quite a ways!
