While I agree, and I love that guitar, I’d have a hard enough time relearning the little I used to know, let alone throwing the 7th string in there.

Yeah, it happened again.
1983 G&L SC-2, built when Mr. Fender and Mr. Fullerton were at the company. Also, a favorite of Devo.

Damn, I was kinda hoping you would buy my buddy's PRS 7-string. But that looks like a fun little guitar! Congrats.

I don't think I've ever seen one of those. It looks like Leo's revision of the Mustang.

Six strings are plenty for me--really, about two strings too much.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
That thing is freaking TASTY. Nice score!
How many stringed things are you up to now?

My arsenal as of right now:
Guitars (all 6 string):
-Jackson Performer PS4
-Jackson Performer PS7
-Jackson JS22 (I like Jacksons, a lot)
-Epiphone Les Paul Standard
-Squier Strat SE, modded
-Ovation Celebrity Acoustic/Electric
Bass (all 4 string):
-Ibanez Soundgear SR400 Active
-Warwick Streamer Standard
-Epiphone Thunderbird Goth
-Squier Vintage Modified '77 Jazz
-Peavey USA Foundation S
Drums:
-Yamaha Stage Custom 7pc kit
-Pearl Sessions 6.5x14 snare
-Magstar Custom Drums 6.5x14 all-maple snare
-Ludwig Acrolite 5x14 snare
-DW5000 pedals, various hardware, Zildjian and Sabian cymbals
-Alesis DM10 7-pc electronic drum kit
I have way more than I ever imagined I would, mainly due to finding absurdly cheap deals. Most I've ever dropped on a guitar was $299 for my Epiphone. Most have been sub-$100 steals. I still want an Ibanez Destroyer guitar and/or bass, but that's a pipe dream at this point.
I have been thinking about trading that Alesis kit, which I never use, in on something stringed.

Im not gonna list them all but i got most in the same way you did, cheaply. In fact my main guitars for my band are all cheap (Xaviere xv585, Drive Wildfire x3, Squier Tele Custom modded) the most i spent was $250 on those. I also have a few p90 guitars (squire tele custom II, Axl Jacknife), Baritones (Danelectro. Douglas and Agile) Bass VI. a modded Squier Bronco and an old Kingston and many many guitars im not listing. Im fairly certain a few of those guitars most people dont know off hand. I also collect old peavey amps and have a few very very rare ones and have an old Mapex Mars 6 piece drumset.
My house is too small, i need an aircraft hanger
I sold off my right-handed basses before our move. I had a Korean Danelectro longhorn, 68 Hagstrom 8-string, and 70’s/USA SD Curly. They all sounded amazing, but I didn’t play them much(mainly because of my 6-string). I kept my 4-lefties though: a vintage Rouge short-scale P-Bass, medium-scale 5-string Warwick Rockbass Corvette medium-scale that I had to grey-market import from a German retailer, and a medium-scale 5-string I built with a luthier friend in the 90’s. I don’t really play any of them either though.
Oh, I have a nylon string acoustic that was my dad’s and a bolt-on neck Yamaha acoustic I got free from a friend, just in case any guitarists stop by.

Our bassist rocks a rogue 8 string at times, the Kingston short scale i mentioned or an EB-0. 8 string has a cool sound
Ever fall in love from afar? Ive never seen one in real life but I am in lust with the Schecter Tempest Custom.

It's like a Strat, Les Paul, and a SG had an interesting evening and no one on the Maury Povich show could figure out who the father was. I like it!
Even though I don't play the guitars I have nearly enough I decided I needed another one. I was searching craigslist and musicgoround for something that stood out. I was halfway looking for a tele but a friend at work mentioned that he had a Reverand Flatroc that he wanted so sell so I figured I would give it a shot. I got it today and played around a bit. Now to pull it apart and find out why the neck pickup isn't working.
I also remembered that the lighting in my house is terrible for taking pictures of things.

I'm not completely convinced on the headstock, but the rest is killer. Let's hear it for hybrid vigor.
I took a few guitars to Guitar Center to reduce the number of guitars I needed to ship as part of the move. I have fewer guitars now, but things didn't exactly go to plan:
In an above post, I toyed with trading in an Alesis DM10 electronic drum kit I have. A friend gave it to me, and as much as I'd like to do my best Rick Allen impression on the thing, I have never used it and it's taking up much-coveted space in my small garage. I hopped on the local guitar store's site yesterday, and noticed this thing:
It's a Legator Opus S 6. They are sort of a new player in the game, mainly focused on shredder-style guitars. A local teacher and guitar player in a now-defunct popular MA Metalcore band that my nephews used to get lessons from was sponsored by these guys, and he LOVED their stuff. That seafoam green-on-maple is killing me. If it's still around next weekend, I may add it to the fleet and trade in that DM10. The same store has an Adrian Smith Jackson signature model right now as well, so there's a good chance I'd be going home with something.
I am selling my late 70s Fender Twin Reverb $850 OBO and a Gibson SG $550 OBO and looking for a Fender Princeton Reverb. Anyone interested?
I have a 4 track for sale too if anyone wants to record some moody, early 90s-style alterna-pop in their dorm room.
In reply to poopshovel again :
Yeah, they do make the fan-fret multi-scale stuff now. Seems like everyone's getting in on that.
Are other instruments allowed? I've been getting more serious about drums lately and have been trying to piece together a better kit through craigslist deals. Scored the cymbals as a group deal, have a few other miscellaneous pieces I kept that I liked from previous kits, and I just got the shells today- I'm calling it pretty much done:
Specs:
PDP Platinum Series Maple Kick Drum and Toms
Pearl Export Snare Drum
Meinl Classics Custom Dark Cymbals (14" hi-hats, 16" crash, 18" crash, 20" ride) and a random Sabian splash
Pearl Powershifter Double Bass Pedal
Gibraltar Enforcer Throne
Evans 360 Heads all around
At slightly under 1/4 challenge budget, I'm very happy with it- I've certainly played plenty of more expensive setups that sounded worse!
