I'm dealing with an over seas project. I asked the contractor to get me some light level readings in some very specific areas. He sent me numbers like ISO 100, F5.0, 1/8 seconds. I understand that these are camera settings and I know what they mean but is there an easy way to convert them to lumens? I'm dealing with time, distance and language barriers here so it isn't as easy as it should be to ask them to get a meter that reads in lumens or foot candles.
EV is the combination of f-stop and shutter speed.

Convert from EV to Lux and Footcandles here:

Some lightmeters, such as my old Sekonic L-308B, will give you incident light readings directly in EV.
In your example, f/5.0 at 1/8 sec. would be roughly EV=8, which converts to 59.46 footcandles.

This place is awesome. I knew there was a conversion table out there I just couldn't find it. Thanks.
