I'll set the scene:
Forget the year, but Dave is still where he should be. I'm on a ski trip bus heading South. A girl who, at the time, seems appreciably older than me, has this song screaming out of a Panasonic ghetto blaster, over and over again. The whole bus sings along. She will later achieve minor fame for her own musical achievements. I am out of cash, tired and happy. One of my skis is broken. My car sucks, but I will soon begin missing it forever.
This is a good song.
YES! I was 4 when that record came out, but my (much) older brothers did all that cool 80's E36 M3 like going on ski trips...and thankfully, introducing their little brother to Van Halen, Ratt, Dokken, et al. Eddie was such a soulful player back then, and so much cool stuff naturally happens when brothers play together; like its them against the world. I'm intrigued to find out who said chick was/is.

This is the best of the original "VH" (DLR) songs in my opinion...but I am one of the few that prefers the VanHagar rendition of the band.

Great song! I love both early and late VH. I know the critics slammed "Diver Down" for having so many covers, but to me it epitomized the spirit of the band. Which is to say, fun!

One of the best. Hard to beat "Everybody Wants Some", but this one is awesome.
