Looks like a very dim picture of a boat and it's wake.

To me, it looks similar to a catfish.

Agreed, you can almost make out the bat if you look at the center of the "body mass".

If Loch Ness wasn't fresh water, I'd guess that was a whale shark.

Yep, that's it alright. Damn thing is a shape shifter though.......because it showed up here 3yrs ago disguised as a '92 sho. I figured out it was the Loch Ness monster when it was always asking for tree fiddy.

Looks like a container ship to me. Nessie's always been good at disguises though.

Seriously, the recent episode of River monsters on Animal Planet that dealt with Loch Ness was very good and treated the subject quite logically. It's being repeated this coming Sunday, and I recommend it to anyone with a real interest in the subject. It's not a stupid, crazy monster program, I was surprised. I don't watch the stupid programs, but I gave this one a try because I'll watch anything that deals with Scotland, and it was worth the time. Well presented, reasonable, and I think may have found one really plausible explanation.

I've got friends in/from the UK. From what they've said to me, just seeing that the pic was from the Daily Mail was all I needed to question that photo.
