The only time we watch Speed is the occasional B-J marathon... but for some reason, only the Scottsdale one in the Winter.

I don't get to watch much TV anyhow, but I'm still a NASCAR fan. That said, some of the coverage has gotten downright stupid. Their Trackside show used to be decent years ago. Now it's like a hillbilly circus and is completely unwatchable. But I'm hoping the actual racing shows still get covered, or picked up elsewhere. I know my boys will be upset if they drop "Dumbest Stuff on Wheels". They think it's hysterical...but then again they're in 3rd grade and kindergarden....same intelligence level as the nimrods on the show.

Dumbest stuff on wheels is available for free on Hulu.com FYI

Meh, there's Discovery Turbo now that will run the same E36 M3.

Just more reason that all racing should go to streaming.

A rambling mess of reality shows that are obviously scripted......

As long as I can still watch and record the 24hrs of le mans every year, IDGAF

I love velocity, but theres only so much Mecum a guy can take, and reruns of overhaulin and west coast customs get old fast. They already cover events like Isle of Mann, WRC, and some mustang challenge stuff, so hopefully, they will expand their racing coverage to NASA/SCCA road course events and the like, and pull back some of their "filler" rerun crap.

Hey now.......I've been on velocity several times now on the auction block. Mecum is much better in person though(especially driving the cars across the block), I've met many many big name people over the last few years. I wouldn't trade it for anything.

It used to be to keep the memory of Hitler alive.

I miss the WW2 channel.

But that is why H2 is here, but only if you get a larger cannel package.

BTW, it's part of the A&E family, along with lifetime. The discovery network runs TLC and the reality freak shows.

Yup. I remember you posting that. The other one - which I cannot ever find when I want to refer to it - is the post where you explained shifting from genre to genre.

Nope, but I'm glad you reposted that. There was some useful info in that thread.

Whatever carriers pick up SPEED2, it's guaranteed that whatever provider I'm on at the time won't have it.

Hopefully Velocity picks up some cool stuff.

Meh, Speed is no big loss at this point--especially with Velocity as good as it is.

I just hope Velocity doesn't cater to the lowest common denominator too soon. It's such good programming right now.

Thanks. I was afraid it just sounded like whining. I've talked about this kind of stuff so much that I can't honestly remember the one you were looking for. I hate to get so vocal, but media has been my profession since I was a teenager.

I actually wish I could get into some kind of online streaming company, but I don't have the IT knowledge (and don't want to go into debt to get it), and none of the big ones seem to be in Atlanta anyway. I still believe that public media should be public service (and I've always considered entertainment for a variety of tastes as a part of that public service), and it's really apparent that the internet is replacing television in that role.

Personally, it feels weird. I wonder if this was what it was like for the scribes when the printing press was invented (yah, worst metaphor evah!). I just wish the infrastructure wasn't so expensive, if I had some cubic dollars hanging around I'd try to build something like Speedcast.

Y'all already know about my addiction to Club Racing.
