It's been years, but we miss Rufus everyday.
Iams deit, not the hair ball one. Raily and Snowball past a way with liver problems too. I keep wanting to get nether cat but it just wouldnt be the same. Ike was as pimp as you can get 31lbs of glory. He would lay down on my wife's side of the bed and then hiss at her when she wanted to go to bed. yep still miss him.
So Sorry for your loss We lost two, early this year. Amanda 15 , was a shock. She developed a fast mouth/throat tumor and we had to put her down in two weeks..
Tara 22, was ill for years, liver failure etc. But she had a stroke one night... and we had to lay her down also...
My wife's only kids... it was a sad time.
But then? Two kittens came into our place a couple months ago. And it's been romping and bedlam since.
Taking them in today for spay and neuter..
Keep your heart and eyes open and more babies will come into your life.
My dog rascal was one motorcycle riding . boat first mate kahlua and milk drinking dog that i miss dearly as with all my former pets .You are not alone .
My youngest son(he's 5) lost his first pet just last month... a fish. Doesn't seem like much, but he's had him since he could remember. Always fed him on time and helped clean his tank... without me asking him to.
My son buried him in the garden out front and then asked if he could have one of my river rocks(I'm nerdy and collect them). Then, he very carefully printed his fish's name(Superman) and dates on the rock and place it over his place of rest. The next weekend, he asked his meemaw to help him put some seeds around the little grave. The seeds have all sprouted, beautiful little mountain flowers.
I asked my son why he wanted the rock and he told me... "But, Daddy, if we ever move, I can take the rock with me so I can remember him."
This wouldn't be so very impressive except, he's like a steroid version of Dennis the Menace... most daring, screw the consequences can't sit/stand still for 2 seconds ball of thunder.... ever.
We'll plant some catnip in the garden to remember your loss.
Peas us Riced, Mark

So, is this the new Weezer? Is it a boy or girl?
Thanks, again all of you for sharing stories. It seems like alot of us are going through pet losses. I, and all of us, are really lucky to have a place to dump all our feelings like this.
We would love a kitten, but we are not sure, we have two other cats in the house, and its only a 940 square foot house. We have a sort of rule/estimate of 1 cat per 500 square foot, otherwise, the people to cat to square foot ratio can get tipped dangerously in the cats favor!
But, if the right cat picks us, what can we do?
Joey
oh, and we bury our fish in the backyard. They are little friends, to. I always play Dick Dale as we bury them, as I figure what better way to send off a Goldfish than with the best Surf Music, ever?

Her name was Reagan and she was a rescue dobie. She was about two years old when we got her and four quick years later she was gone. I haven't had a dog since I was six and Palomino was hit by a truck Christmas Eve. Reagan was a wicked dog, she was so funny. If the other dobie, Ruby, was doing anything wrong she'd yell at her. If Ruby hopped on the couch she'd yell and yell and yell until I'd have to yell at both of them. Reagan would always get Ruby's rawhide bone started for her because Ruby liked chewing bones that were already started (gross, I know but hey, they're dogs). The other day Terri (my girlfriend) gave Ruby a new bone and Ruby just walked around the house with it in her mouth whining. =(

I wish these things didnt need to happen, but as just occured to me, the pain now is so small compared to getting to the happiness of getting to have her for the last few years. Its worth it, and I really wouldnt change it, other than getting her for a few more years.

I think the best bet would be the most black one, the far right in the picture. I dont mind if its a boy or girl, its kind of an either way kinda name!

I hate to hear that about Weezer, man. I had a cat named Bill that we had for years and it really sucked to lose him.
Are you gonna get another cat?

It's quite a large picture but the only one I have hosted so far. I'll be putting more up next week. Reagan is the one closest to me. They used to go ape___ when I'd open my humidor because they knew I'd be outside with them for at least an hour or more smoking. =(
