I've no idea if this is any good or not, but I figured one of you guys would give it a try and report back to us.
Or, in what may possibly be more likely, given this board, already have a better formula.

Sore throat medicine in my family has always been a pump spray of burbon. Burns for a second, but works a treat.

Pretty much. It's why everyone loves NyQuil. Hard time be upset about being sick if you're comatose.
A wee dram of bourbon is SOP for any throat-related malady around here. Repeat as necessary. Hell, my mother used to rub it on my gums when I was teething.
Every culture has a version of this. While in Europe some years ago, I kept myself mostly functional when I suddenly came down with a truly nasty bronchial thing with uncounted shots of grappa (probably in the neighborhood of 12-15 over the course of an afternoon). The really odd thing was that by all accounts it didn't have the expected effects usually associated with alcohol; it was as if the germs were absorbing it or something.
Boilo:

Works on coughs, colds, moles, sore holes, and pimples on the belly.
Been drinking it for just about every illness I've ever had, and sometimes just to keep warm on a cold night.
I take a mug and fill it about 2/3 with water. I cut a 3/4" slice of lemon and then cut that in half. One of the lemon halves gets squeezed into the water and then the rind is dropped in. Add about two tablespoons of honey. Microwave that for 2 minutes. When it comes out, squeeze the other lemon half in, stir, and then fill to the top with a good bottled-in-bond bourbon (I like Evan Williams white label for this - it's cheap so you don't feel bad mixing it but it's also very good. If you want a little more sweetness, the Old Grand Dad bottled-in-bond is another good choice). That remedy gets my wife and I through sore throats and coughing.

Was told to do that since I was a kid. (Well minus the bourbon)
Best cure I heard for a sore throat was to gargle with a good whiskey until it didn't hurt anywhere anymore.
Welp, I have the beginnings of what everyone else at work seems to have. We are testing this E36 M3 tonight.
I'm a pharmacist. I often tell folks looking for something for cough or cold to use honey, lemon, and brown whisky.
I have a cousin who sings in a bluegrass band. His father-in-law is a Baptist preacher. Their secret for hoarseness is hot tea with lots of honey.
