all I can say to this video <3

Nice to see someone drive it like it should. This is how a prototype should sound and look like. It also has a proper gearbox I want these back. I don't care how fast the new cars can down/up shift, take corners and grip, and how fuel efficient they are......

The perfect sound track to play through my headphones to drown out the chattering cubicle neighbors.

What an nice interlude in the workday. I don't have headphones, so it was fun trying to describe to my coworkers why it was relaxing/entrancing to watch.
Beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Any idea what it's laptime was?

I watched it once, and then just listened while doing other things about 3 or 4 more laps.
I didn't time it, but comparing it to the in car cameras from this year's race I'm betting it was a slow lap. I'd like to know how it compared to this year's laptimes and also to the laptimes from back in the day when it won.
yeah I mean it was a 5 minute video so maybe subtract a minute, not sure though! TJ, i'm interested also
Matt, how'd that go lol
I never get tired of 787B stuff. The sound always makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

I'd love to see speed/ RPMs on a display.

I think I'm just desensitized to the confused looks and dismissive gestures.
Did you see, esp around 2:20ish, and once later, how he literally MASHES the gas pedal. Nice to see and hear a driver use a gear shift and blp-downshift by having the talent.
I heard he had done some commentary, wonder what he's up to now? I remember when he drove F1...

Agreed. Damn, does that thing rev like mad.
Awesome to see a car getting shifted rather than paddle-shifted. Almost odd to see it now. Beautiful downshifts out of him.
Great video.
BTW--it still irks me that those chicanes exist in the Mulsanne Straight. Total coitus interruptus.
I could watch every bit of footage of that over a 1000 times and still not get tired of it.
I could make the argument that the 787B is the most important (and coolest) Japanese car ever, but I don't think anybody would argue with me.
take this over the new cars any day, every day, and all day, seriously, give me these back, I'd rather pay to watch these instead in all their glory.
Seriously, I know, no music with that video but Unwritten Law-Seein Red is the BEST song to play.

Well, he's no longer driving a race car, he's now driving a piece of history.

So kinky.
The sounds that car makes are just wild; it idles like a big block Chevy with a nasty cam, that immediately turns into a howl when the throttle's pressed and then becomes a banshee wail at speed.
What a vid always nice to hear a 4 rotor screaming :D.
I feel lucky, my good friend has a NA 20B FD, and has for a few years now. I just heard it for the first time on track at mid ohio at the end of may, and it was awesome. 475?rwhpish of 10,000 rpm fury. Sounds so good. I need to bug him and see if there are any vids of it yet...
Yes its up to about 475whp. I think peak torque is in the mid 200's but it holds it to near redline, which is 10,500. It has semi-peripheral ports that are open above about 50% throttle. And it has a 5 speed dog box. Its quite a machine....

Is there such a thing as bad wood?
