True story: my parents had a storage freezer in their basement that they got second hand. It was there since my first memories of going downstairs to fetch things out of it for dinner. It was there my entire childhood, and well after I moved out.  It rusted. It froze over, and had to be defrosted. But it just kept running. Eventually my parents replaced it, because mom hated having to defrost it a couple of times a year and the rust on it was getting really ugly. But it was still working. It was probably 50 years old at that point.

My parents have a Westinghouse refrigerator in their basement that was a gift to my father's parents in 1948, and it was secondhand even then. It still works and they still use it

There's a spot along Newport Beach and Balboa Island that they used for boat shots making me think they didn't travel far.  LOL!
