ugh... cannot remember the commander who, when he found himself and his men completely encircled, said "They can't run away from us now, boys!"

Unrelated, but required, meme
When even Hitler tells you you need to tone the crazy down a tad, you know you've gone off the deep end.

Factually mostly incorrect. While the Japanese did do significant damage at Pearl Harbor, and most of those ships were eventually returned to service (e.g. Battleships), that did not include any of the US ships that were material in the Battle of Midway (carriers).
What is "sort of" correct here is that the US did a crazy fast fix of a carrier (USS Yorktown) to allow it to participate in Midway, but it was not damaged at Pearl Harbor, it was damaged at the battle of the Coral Sea only about a month before. (It was a casualty of Midway BTW, damaged in the battle, torpedoed and sunk by a sub right after)
Sorry for being the history "nazi" (!), but I really am not a fan of incorrect (known) history being taught or displayed (e.g. in movies).
Here is a meme for you, which should be sub-titled "how to know when someone has no concept of how economics works"
