I had a deep conversation with a 9 year old about the hypocrisy of Catholic schools. Religion did not come up once. Girls being able to peirce their ears and have long hair, while the boys were not, did come up. We agreed that its bullE36 M3.

I reffed a Catholic hockey team tonight (from Mundelein if you want to do the math) and commented to the goalie about his long hair and I was surprised he was allowed to have it - it apparently is much different there now than it was in the early aughts when my brother went there.
I went to a Jesuit HS, back in the early 90s (geez, I'm oooooold) and they had a hair length code. There was one Muslim dude at the school and he had his hair up in a turban. I guess they gave him religious exemption for his hair length.
The grooming requirements weren't really hypocrisy or anything so sinister. It was more just conservative (culturally, not politically) norms that had kind of stuck post-war.
EDIT: MEME added for lolz.
