Yes yes yes, I know... It's the amp, not the guitar that goes to 11; these are perfectly normal runes and not anybody's elven (or elfin, or what you will) writing, etc, etc etc... I got the joke in my head and already wasted too much time finding an even half-acceptable image...

EDIT: And adding further blither to an already dodgy post, I feel strangely compelled to link the spot I found the guitar image, even though it doesn't really seem to do attribution of the origin. Anyhow, I found it on Pinterest (which I generally hate).

Anyone who thinks Bi-monthly means twice a month should be lumped in with those who use irregardless in anything but a satirical way, and prevented from graduating high school.  That level of stupidity is too dangerous to be given an education qualification.

Except that even if YOU know if doesn't mean twice "twice monthly", you can't be certain whether or not someone else saying it means that.

The selection of memes available under the search string "fortnightly" was better than expected. Still not good though.

Well, the English language is always evolving.   The problem will fix itself. If enough people use "bimonthly" incorrectly, it will become correct.   Or already has, as the original post suggested.

Just like eventually "loose" will be an acceptable spelling of the word "lose".  I always thought the number of people doing this was shockingly high, but thats only my personal sample set.  If the number of memes created about it are any indication, it is in fact very widespread.
