Those are SN95s.
Any time I've spoken to them, Mustang folks are always real particular about "It's a New Edge, not an SN-95". I guess they want to distance the (cool) '99-04 models from the (fugly) '94-'98s.

These must be the same folks who decided "old body style" was a good way to distinguish eras on a vehicle that's spanned a lot of the last century and a dozen generations. It's an awesome counterpoint. "We messed up being too vague on that last naming thing. This time let's say that only half the things that define this group are in this group."

"If you say so. You're the edgelord, not me!"

I mean, I'm biased, but I like the 94-98 better...
There's crossover as the underpinnings are the same, even compared to the slightly different foxbody, so I've seen it both ways.

Oh god, the Chevy truck guys are the worst "It's a New New New Old New Old Body Style." Seriously, I see them referring to GMT800s as "New Old Body Style"

They're all Fox bodies to me.
But some people must have a weird concept of fugly
I remember seeing in Car Craft in the early-mid 90s that there were three treatments Ford did for the Mustang restyle. They nicknamed them the Jenner, the Schwarzenegger, and something else (Stallone?) The Jenner looked like a Probe crossed with a running shoe and wasn't used. One of the other two was what became the '94. The other looked a lot like the '99 restyle.

Can't tell 'em from a '79 from underneath! I suppose you could look at the exhaust or the transmission. 8.8 vs. 7.5 maybe

They got better front suspension geometry in '94 as well as much much better front wheel bearings and separate rotors... before that people were hunting down '83 Continental front knuckles because they had the best geometry for road racing.
People really call New Edge mustangs different just because they look different? They probably think every new model year in the 50s and 60s was a new generation, the styling changed every year back then

On the contrary, that's the hat you wear when your dermatologist tells you you're a hat person now, but you don't like baseball caps and most occasions don't really work for your derby. I admittedly don't mind a brewery.
