We were still doing that in high school. Early 90s.
I used to draw BMX and skateboarding stick figures on the letters. Randall Munroe says what?
When I was in middle school, I used a Playboy magazine cover, one with their rabbit head image and nothing else (no pictures of women) as a book cover.
It lasted about a week. My teacher agreed that there was nothing offensive about it, but I also had to agree with her that it was disruptive, so I complied with her request to remove it.
Graduated HS in '08. I did it through college too. Mostly because the bookstore would give less money for any stains or tears or anything at the end of the year and I had a habit of putting my coffee cup down on the books and then forgetting about them for weeks.
Meme unrelated.

That would be very popular with my family. Italians. Every family reunion is a big pile of sauce, meat, cheese, and bread with a table full of cans of coke.
But enough about my relatives...

Can I come to a reunion?
Yup, actual high school book cover from like '91. Includes random quotes from: Douglas Adams, William Gibson, Robert Anton Wilson; lyrics from Midnight Oil, Ministry, Kraftwerk, Peter Gordon.
