Time to get this thread back on track.
Why are there pyramids in Egypt?
...
Because they were too heavy to ship back to the British Museum.

There are still people that actively supported segregation voting in our elections.
I've lived in the South for 50 years and have never seen or heard of anyone pushing for voting segregation. A quick Google search turns up nothing. I'm curious to know why you make this statement.
Everyone expects it to be the South. I met my first hardcore racits... in Idaho.

I see more Confederate flags here in central New York than I did the two years that I lived in Tennesee.
In reply to Toyman! :
Let me rephrase: There are still people voting in elections today who actively supported racial segregation earlier in their lives, and their views may not have changed much.
Others cleared it up, but I just wanted to chime in and say they are correct.
And yes, let's get back on topic. It rained for most of the weekend, except for Sunday afternoon. Now, on this wonderful Monday, it's sunny, and will remain so until... Friday, when the rain starts again.

Or maybe I didn't get the point of the movie.

I'm so berkeleying tired of this. I just want to go mountain biking. Its been beautiful all week then E36 M3ty on the weekend for like 2 months now
In reply to ProDarwin :
I'd be happy if it could just pick a temperature and stick to it. The constant swings basically make my body feel like it's coming down with something and I've been surfing a wave of fatigue for so long I didn't realize I was ACTUALLY getting sick until Friday.
Feels like pneumonia.
Yay

He didn't say voting segregation. He said that segregationists are still alive to be voting in our elections.
It says "actively supported segregation voting". As in actively pushing for it, or possibly demonstrating and advertising to encourage it. I'm not sure where that happens, but I haven't seen it happen down here. Not to mention, segregation issues haven't been on a ballot in a long time.
Time for some more memes.

You need to parse the sentence out:
Subject: "people who actively supported segregation"
Verb: "are still [...] voting"
Object: "in our elections"
He is saying nothing about "segregation voting". He is saying "People who supported segregation are still voting in our elections."

Finding out that this weekend is going to be more of the same actually did 1d6 of mental damage to me.
In reply to Duke :
So are socialists, communists, and criminals. I'd worry about those more than I would segregationists. Maybe we could concentrate on actual societal problems instead of dragging up issues that were pretty much solved 50+ years ago.
Relevant meme? I think so.
