My point was that those issues which were "solved" 50 years ago by legislation aren't completely solved in daily life and probably won't be without generational shift. People have to die in order for their influence to end. I'm not sure we can properly get into a meaningful discussion about the entire topic without going firmly into the tire wall of politics, though. Nobody really wants that.

This must be a location problem. In Charleston SC, the city that actually started the Civil War, I don't see what you are apparently seeing in NC.
