I mean, I've done this with vice grips, but this...this is some next level berkeleyery.
Yes, The zip tie is at a place it can easily slip to a more narrow part of the handle. They also didn't clip the tail.
Like it or not, that bastard is getting home.
You guys. That's perfectly safe- the handles are insulated.

Everyone seems to be missing the point. He didn't clip the tail on the zip tie. There's expedient, and there's just plain sloppy.
Speaking of seasonal memes

How are you supposed to reuse a zip tie if you cut it?

They didn't clip the tail so that when it slips to the more narrow part of the handle they can easily retighten it. Naturally.

On the one hand, I have known dogs that required tranquilizers to not freak out any harder than cowering under a corner table and whimpering constantly, during thunderstorms. Fireworks was right out. I still vividly remember my high school sweetheart's dog, who normally never gave me the time of day, crawling into my lap, cowering and shaking, while we tried to comfort her.
On the other hand, you raise a good point.

I had a neighbor across the street, who would leave his handsome chocolate lab "Buddy" outside ALL DAY. Buddy would stand by the door and bark non-stop. I felt so sorry for that poor pooch.
My ex-wife adopted a puppy mill rescue, and she was nervous wreck with loud noises. Thunderstorms were the worst. We found that a Thundershirt helped a lot. She eventually calmed down and got better with noise, over time.
