Yes! But did you hear "dun dun dun dun" in your head after you said it?

Also, it takes all kinds, or at least there are all kinds, and we all (all kinds) gotta work with that.

Am I reading into this too far?
*Knock knock* "Who's there?"
"Lifter"
"Lifter who?"
"Lifter skirt"
I mean that's the roller of the lifter embedded into the piston skirt, right? Reading into it too far? Did they just mean rod knock? Because that would not have been making rod knock noises.
In reply to Mezzanine :
Clearances are usually tight enough that the roller would hit the crankshaft at BDC, which is what would have rammed it there in the first place.
To give an idea, this S shaped connecting rod made itself known by the knocking from the piston thwacking the crankshaft.
I hydrolocked an LQ9 with methanol... good times. The piston and rod hang in my garage now as a reminder to do no stupid.

Boomer here. Only slightly exaggerated. Not kidding.
In my case, the kidnapping probably saved my life. My dad got me back from my mother, who had already tried to kill me once. NC State Police didn't agree, luckily the FL governor declined to extradite.
