I had oatmeal for breakfast. Normally I add a little brown sugar, a little cottage cheese. Today I had the brilliant idea, why not ice cream? That has sugar and dairy and would mean only putting one thing in my oatmeal.
It was a good idea.
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
Cottage cheese. In oatmeal. No. No, GTFO. No. (And I like cottage cheese.)
In reply to Appleseed :
Or eat a bunch or Oreos right before you go in. Make them work for their money.

From the comedian Stephen Wright:
My dental hygienist is cute. Every time I visit, I eat a whole package of Oreo cookies while waiting in the lobby. Sometimes she has to cancel the rest of the afternoon's appointments.

Poe's Law is in effect, here.
I worked with someone who thought a customer was out of country because she was in Puerto Rico.

Unfortunately, that's how its often displayed. Even here. And when you point out that there are numerous factors involved, someone inevitably says something about changing the definition until you are right.
Besides, memes are never reasonable.
Duke said:It's not the "inevitable result". No one reasonable ever claimed it was.
Meme unrelated:
Dunno, man. "All it takes is hard work" sounds pretty inevitable to me.
In reply to Appleseed :
Capitalism and our Constitution make it possible to succeed but they do not make it inevitable. From there, hard work, ability, drive, and luck enter into it. There are other avenues that go into accumulating wealth, but the start is almost always hard work and the willingness to do what is necessary to put yourself in the position to earn more.
In Africa, it has nothing to do with hard work. Almost everything about their society is set against them, starting at the top with corrupt governments that sell their souls to exploitative corporations and nations.
20% of businesses fail in the first 2 years. 45% within the first 5. Only 25% make it to 15 years or more...

What about the "no politics" part is confusing?

This is year 18 for me. I can promise you I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed.
I won't recommend self-employment to everyone but I will promise you this. If you never try, you won't have to worry about being a success. Or a failure.
Cars make you think your a God.
Cars can give you isolation.
Cars have the thrills that you need.......

Which parts were bothering you? The facts about why it's easier to succeed in the USA or the facts about why it's harder to succeed in Africa?
Or is it the part where you can't separate non political statements from politics?

Starving people in Africa is never really funny. Especially if it involves cleaning your plate and eating all your vegetables.

I have yet to see any attempt at humor, let alone at the expense of hardworking African women, since Appleseed posted the meme.
