No, it didn't:

$1,000,000 - $10,000 = $990,000 disparity

$1,100,000 - $30,000 = $1,070,000 disparity

$1,000,000 to 1,010,000 is a 1% increase, and makes no difference to his life.  $10,000 to 30,000 is a 300% increase, and is life changing.

I get that.  That is a separate thing.

Pete. said that the disparity decreased, when it did not.  The disparity actually increased - yet despite that, the lower-income person is in a much better position than they were the year before.  Which was, I believe, the original point.
