It's honestly quite amusing how many times the Sovs built some flawed prototype, overstated it's capabilities, the US took the propaganda at face value, and then jumped airplane tech ahead a decade in response

Kind of a funny story. I went to Guam last year because Submarines.
Well sub mechanics, especially from New England, are a rugged bunch with some pretty redneck tendencies.
After being there for about a week we are all hanging out having a drink when one of us said: "Damn fellas, have you tried the bidet? It's amazing."
Well, having all tried one for the first time at the hotel, we spent the next 3 drinks or so expounding about the virtues of a bidet and how incredibly awesome they are.
