James Doohan lost his right middle finger, and had the index finger mangled, during a beach trip in France in the early-mid 1940s.  That's why you never saw his right hand on Star Trek.

It's relevant because of messing with AI image generators, which are notoriously bad for getting hands wrong.  Even if they are drawn correctly, they're often on the wrong side!

Like their acronyms would be pronounced phonetically.

It's not pronounced "shcuba".  And all the letters in "laser" are pronounced normally too.

I you think it should be "jif", do you also say "jirl" or "jo" instead of "girl" and "go"?

Scuba would be pronounced scuh-bah, unless you pronounce underwater as "oonderwater" and apparatus as "uh-paratus" and laser would have a short a and long e, "la-seer"

Should JPEG be "jay-feg" since the p stands for photographic?
