National Guard supported a charity ride I did for a few years, and we were supplied water out of those, so, yeah...
...pretty sure it doesn't work that way
I remember participating in a week long COMMEX in central Florida when I was active duty down here. We were in the middle of nowhere and there was no facilities, water or power. I was tasked with towing the water buffalo with my LMTV. I picked both up at the motor pool. The water buffalo had already been filled with water and hitched up. We convoy out to the site and set up. Everybody is drinking from the water buffalo since it was our only source of water out there. When it was time to go home, I checked to see how much water was left. There was about 6 inches of water in the bottom. I thought I saw something in the bottom but couldn't tell. I grabbed my flashlight and shined it down there.
There was a handful of dead cockroaches in the bottom.
You ever do that whole body shiver thing? Yeah.
I never trusted anyone to fill up the water buffalo up after that.
Oh wow, I found a pic of the site with the offending water buffalo. That is not me looking at the camera. It was one of our supply guys.
"Potable" water
My friend was a Master Gunner lifer. He retired out and got a job teaching the troopies how to set those tents up. I think bigger ones than that too.

I've been saying for years the Aztek was ahead of it's time, even if it was and still is ugly as sin.

I was looking for a good 'I'm not a monster, I'm just ahead of the curve' meme, found this, laughed
