That just means the glow plugs are engaged. If you've never seen it then the glow plugs don't work 
One of those is the heiroglyph for "apply brake to shift from Park".

Ive owned a vw AND bmw, and haven't ever seen all of those!
I currently have 4 of those illuminated on what seems like a mostly perfectly fine running Chrysler product (oxymoron?)
