Soviet policy created a situation so bad that people were resorting to cannibalism.
But don't worry, this time we'll get socialism right.

Nobody wants full blown socialism in the US. The problem is when the only source of info you choose to consume is right wing propaganda then you are constantly being told that anything to the left of hunting poor people for sport is socialism. I don't see the people that constantly live in fear of socialism trying to abolish the socialist police force, or fire department, or roads and bridges, or social security, or public schools and libraries, or military. These are all socialistic. We all like them. But as soon as I say we can do the same with healthcare then I'm a huge commie. Just like my komrades in Canada I guess.
Go ahead and patio me I dont give a E36 M3.

Yup. Nailed it. But let's just keep on supplying healthcare in the most expensive way possible and get poor outcomes, OK?

Gentlemen, I'm rather liberal these days and have strong opinions as well, but let's stick to keeping politics out of the forum to a reasonable extent?
I have a number of people I have given up as friends due to insisting on always talking about politics. And yeah, both ends of the spectrum.

They called it "socialism", but if you look at things like the Nazinsky Island ("Cannibal Island") tragedy, they just gave all of the resources to the elites out of indifferent laziness and told them to deal with it as necessary. Which is trickle down economics, the theory that wealth will trickle down to those who need it out of the goodness in the hearts of those who have it.
The US also tried this on some level in the 30s during the Depression, which is why ingident shantytowns that would crop up would get to be known as "Hoovervilles".
Anyway, steering away from economics, here's a meme.
Too many people confuse Socialism with social services. The first fire department predates Socialism as a political ideology by almost 200 years.
I come here fo funny E36 M3. Can we get out of politics please? Im sick of all three sides, and just want to look at berkeleying cats people.
There are apparently several people in here that should have spent the day working on cars instead of posting memes.
Just saying.
