Not a meme, I apologize. When inerters (aka J-dampers) were new in F1, I believe it was McLaren who used "zogs" as the unit of inertence (?!) to avoid communicating anything useful to other teams in the pits.
Maybe I can find a meme...
Nope, sorry. Just wasted five minutes digging through "f1 meme" search results and I'm just going to cut my losses.

Likewise. I'll admit to using the term twin-dizzy for the '73 and earlier Mazda rotaries, though.

Dizzy, Tranny, Carb, etc. All just abbreviations. I don't hate them, they're just a shorthand way of offering to something. Language works by communicating information.
I was having a discussion with a co-worker today, and I told him "I ran a dingleberry hone down the cylinder...". He laughed, because he knew exactly what I was talking about. Then I laughed, because I realized I couldn't come up with the actual name for the tool.

Ball hone?
Brush Research hone?
....everybody calls them "dingleberry hones". Except for higher end engine builders, they call them things that would make the GRM forum filter scream "tilt". They're great if you like ruining a good finish on a bore
(One piece of advice I will never forget: "A bore seals better and makes more power on its SECOND set of rings." Meaning, if you are reringing an engine, don't touch it with a hone of any type)

It is lazy, but that is okay in the here and now, I guess.

Dizzy = distributor, so at least that person has a rudimentary knowledge of what a distributor is.

Nope. It's shorthand. A way of conveying more information with fewer words/syllables/letters. The opposite of lazy.
As for the dingleberry hone, I agree...but when you're talking a rusty bore you're trying to extricate a stuck piston from...they do have a use.
