I remember conjugation giving me fits in Spanish class. I didn't realize, theirs at least made sense. English, we have Am Was Were Are Is... How does any of that make sense? At least most verbs follow some "rules" (Dance, dancing, danced), but some of it is just bizarre.

But the problem in this case is, it's the written form. There is no context.
If I'm standing there with a serving spoon and a pot of chili, "You good?" has an obvious meaning. If you are weeping into your pillow while clutching a picture of your mother, well, that's different.
