I assumed that it's because burning cardboard puts out a lot of creosote and also makes a large flame, so it is a bad idea to burn it in a woodstove in mass quantities.

But there could be some significance to the boxes themselves.  I ain't sure.

Its unclear, but I assumed it was someone burning the evidence from a Milwaukee spending spree.
