E36 M3, I have a good RX-8 meme but it has someone who could be considered political, so I can't post it. Take this one instead.

I gotta be honest, it sucked. I'm someone who needs to be doing something or I go insane. It was a cold, snowy spring here in CNY, so I couldn't fire up the Miata and just go for a drive in it because the roads were white with salt. I didn't have any work to do to the Miata, so it wasn't like I could spend the time getting it ready for the race season, because it was already ready. I purchased a bunch of books off the internet, then immediately chewed through them in 4 days time. Nothing was open, none of my friends wanted to meet up, so instead I ended up just walking, a lot. Like 5-8 miles a day. Basically, I would wake up in the morning, eat breakfast, file my unemployment claim, go for a walk, get home, eat lunch, realize there was still nothing to do, go for another walk, eat dinner, sit around bored out of my mind. I was so happy when I got the call to come back to work after three weeks furlough, just for something to do.
Interesting. If you locked me in the house today with no external source physical stuff to do, and checked back a year later I bet I would still be plenty busy.
I have a kid though and since the pandemic started I have WFH, so I've been too busy the entire time. What I wouldn't give for enough free time to sit down and chew through books.

Yeah, as a mechanic, WFH wasn't an option for me. And I'm single with no kid, so it was literally just three straight weeks of isolation with nothing to do. Doesn't work well for me.
I kinda wish I could have had the time off. I've not had more than 2 weeks off at a time in damn near 30 years. I was always an essential worker, always had to go to work. The only time I didn't was when I was physically ill and you're not enjoying that.
And because there are TOO MANY WORDS AND NOT ENOUGH PIKTURS:

No kids here. I was also essential. In 2020 I spent 6 weeks at home due to a 2 week restriction of movement each time I came home from a hotter spot than home. 9 months on the road for work, 3 trips across country one round trip driving, 25 states and about 20k miles, 1240 hours of overtime, almost lost 91 hours of use or lose vacation time but got it extended to 2021.
