Man, that's pretty crazy. I wonder how many people under a certain age have ever seen this photo?
I remember seeing that Photoshop at least twenty years ago. A question just as interesting is, how many people have seen this image without having seen the original?
In reply to Pete. (l33t FS) :
I don't believe I've ever seen the original, but I can guess what the scene is without knowing any names.

You should know (or at least recognize) at least one of the names. If you don't, you don't *really* know what's going on in the photo.

I know we typically don't advertise businesses around here, but Randy has earned the right.

Isn't that the final performance of Jack Ruby and the Bullets?
Great band, but kind of the definition of a one hit wonder.
I don't know for sure if Jack ever played another show, but I am certain that it was Lee's last stage.

Photoshop!?!
An age yellowed copy of image was hanging behind the first bar I played in 1991. I am betting that was done with x-acto knives and photocopiers.
In reply to Trent :
The "DK" signature on the brick was almost certainly done with Photoshop layers. That isn't from the original photo, it was put there by the manipulator.

I was born in 1962. This was ancient history before I was out of elementary school.
I had to guess from the hints to what is was.

The Roland D-20 was introduced in 1988, and Photoshop in 1990. More importantly, the 1996 watermark on the lower keyboard would indicate it was probably somewhere around 1996 that this was created :) If you follow up with the George E Mahlberg watermark you'll find a bunch of references to it, and that it was published in Wired Magazine. That's where I would have seen it, and I just got rid of the issue a couple of years ago when I moved. If you read Wired at the time, you'd know it was just the sort of thing they'd publish - the design was off the hook.

Need more proof of who did it? He put himself in the picture behind the "keyboard" player.

Interestingly, he got permission from the original photographer to do it - something only a pro would do, as even then people were starting to assume that "if it's on the internet, it's public domain". And on that note, this photo appeared in Miata Magazine in an ad for one of our competitors. The graphic designer they'd hired to do their ad found a cool Miata picture on the internet and lifted it...not realizing it was quite recognizably a car belonging to his client's primary competition. Oops. End of that contract. Stealing images can have consequences, folks.

You covered most of what I was going to say, so I will just add that the logo in the background is from the Dead Kennedys.
This image is associated with the above image. I am sure someone will know.
