One of the later books establishes that due to his role in aiding the rise of the Galactic Empire, Binks was ostracized by pretty much everyone on Naboo after the Battle of Endor and basically ends up as a homeless, penniless street performer. He isn't fully aware of the implications of his actions, but knows that everyone hates him and has a general idea why.
I feel bad for the dude that played him, Ahmed Best, because supposedly the whole time he felt really uncomfortable with the role, finding it to be somewhat racist, and kept trying to get the character revised but George Lucas didn't listen to him. Because of the negative criticism that the character received in both The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones, during the development of Revenge of the Sith Ahmed Best recommended George Lucas kill off Jar Jar by having Anakin hack him to pieces. It's pretty sad when, as an actor, you know that your character is so reviled, that you want him to be brutally murdered onscreen as atonement.
They should have one of those with "when you're really rich" and an army of lawyers and consultants blocking the government off.

Talking to my older relatives, I don't believe that for a second. Kids have always done dumb stuff. They just didn't have social media and lawyers

Kinda hate to admit it, but some of my best/most interesting moments have been while acting as a freaking idiot. The best case I can find for the existence of a higher power is the fact that I still draw breaths.
