Counter-counter point: excessive anything is, by it's very nature, bad. That's why we have the word "excessive".  And yes, trying to watch a movie while the kids are sleeping that goes from dead whisper to WHOLLY CRAP EVRYTHING IS DUNE BLOWD UP is really berkeleying annoying.

What qualifies as excessive is completely subjective. To a regular household,  2 cars is excessive. To us, 2 cars is a GRM starter kit.

I dont mind it one bit when I'm alone.  When I have to share the audio environment of my house with another person, yeah its super annoying.
