That's why I pretty much don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognise anymore, and those are just the ones that T-Mobile doesn't identify as spam calls in the first place. The latter just go straight to voicemail.

I'm pretty relentless about adding numbers to the blocked list as well. My spam calls have decreased by 90%.

I'm much more inclined to answer a call at 11pm than during the day because Dana works nights and the kid has been sick off and on lately. If it becomes the new norm though, I might have to upgrade from an airhorn to a train horn and pay a few noise ordinance tickets. Unless someone finally finds a way to trace these calls to an actual location. Then maybe all the good sounding yet unenforceable laws that have been passed about robocalls might actually do something instead of making some shiny happy person in a suit look like they care.

GM got all pissy about us selling 22 sets of warranty oil cooler lines on '14-'18 trucks in a month with 20 work days, so now we aren't allowed to sell any. Well, GM, maybe if your engineers were worth a E36 M3 and could engineer the berkeleying things so that they didn't start leaking at 25k miles, we wouldn't sell so many.

How does that work when the next truck under warranty comes in with leaking oil cooler lines?  Does a regional rep need to get involved in approving the service or something?

Yeah, most likely we would have to start taking pictures and submitting them to GM to get approval before replacement. If we keep going as we are, then GM will come in and audit everything with a fine-tooth comb and start dinging us on everything that is even slightly improperly filed. When our boss told us that I said "Well, if I have a truck leaking oil and I don't say anything and then the guy's engine blows up, am I going to get screamed at because the truck was just in and we didn't say anything?" I didn't really get an answer.

Just replaced my father's original battery in his 2011 Journey last night.

In the driveway.

In the rain.

It wasn't nearly as fun as that sounds.

Last night, while I'm working on the Miata, my father starts off with his "I don't know if I could get your mother to sign off on this but..." conversations, which are always interesting. He tells me that this guy who is kinda/sorta related in a roundabout way and lives near my oldest sister Patti has a nice Case 600 tractor for sale for $2000 and that my sister needs a tractor and he was thinking of getting it for her to use, because everytime she wants to use my BIL's Kubota either he's using it or someone is borrowing it. Hold up, your wife is commuting 50 miles a day in a rusty Subaru with 195k miles that uses 2 quarts of oil a week, you don't even own a vehicle and have been using my Subaru Baja all this year, you keep saying that the house is going to need a roof soon, you say you need a new air compressor for the garage to do any of the body work on the LeMans but don't want to spend the $1200, you get mad at having to put any money into my middle sister's car. But, you're considering dropping 2 grand on a tractor for my sister to use?! For less money, you could just replace the rear wheels and tires on your International 300 that's been sitting for years because the rear wheels are rotted out from calcium, and lend that to her. Sorry, pops, I'm with you on a lot of things, but this one just doesn't make a damn bit of sense.

Revisiting this one, I lent my father my Facebook account (he doesn't have one) so that he could try and find a car for himself or my mother on Facebook Marketplace, as our local Craigslist has been gutted. Today I log on, and my Facebook Marketplace "Listings You Recently Viewed" is chock full of Case VAC tractors. No, that is not a vehicle you or your wife can drive to work everyday. Stop, go find a car. At least it's not all John Deeres, or I'd be worried he has completely lost his mind.

One of my coworkers tried to warm up some French fries in the microwave today and somehow burned them. BADLY. 2 hours later and still the entire office smells. I'm getting a bit of a headache from it too I think.

So the norm these days when trying to deal with people on marketplace is a bunch of flakes, but the moment I decide to take an offer from somebody who met me in the town I live in instead of making me drive 2 hours to meet and then be upfront about the fact that I took somebody else's offer, I'm the shiny happy person.

Meh. I can't please everybody I guess.

How on earth could this be a shock to GM?  I'm a berkeleying Volvo specialist, and I used to do two or three sets of GM cooler lines, either engine or trans, every month. The trans lines I do with braided hose and compression fittings, and they never leak again.

Quit buying your stuff from the lowest bidder.

You've been coughing and gagging for 10 berkeleying days. Your bullE36 M3 remedies are bullE36 M3, because it's getting worse.

Do you want bronchitis and not go on vacation?  Because this is how you get bronchitis and not go on vacation.  This is not phlegm from laryngitis, this is a full blown cold, if not influenza.

Stop being a bullheaded shiny happy person and try something different or I'm dumping your ass in the car and taking you to a doctor.

Jesus berkeley. If I'm the voice of reason, you are in deep E36 M3.

You only have to change your battery like every five or six years.  That is like half as often as you have to R&R the transmission.

Got about two hours of sleep Friday night. Worked a ten hour shift Saturday. Get home and I get the kids solo because wife had a photo shoot. Perfect time to get a migraine, right? Finally get medicated enough to sleep around 3 this morning. Woke up to a puddle in my bed at 7. 3yo had crawled in and thrown up. Bath time. Laundry time. 1yo starts crying from her room. Go get her. She’d thrown up too and was rolling around in it. I’m ready for this weekend to be over.

Hey, someone else posted in my build thread for the first time in a year! Let's see what they said!

Oh, it was to tell me I did something dumb. Cool.

I think I have to go off the grid for a while. The internet has been making me feel more isolated and lonely lately, not less.
