Running out of time before Christmas and repairing the edges of the plastidip isn't going very well.  I guess I'd better start priming the second case in the event that the first one's touch-ups don't work out...

In regards to Mrs Recon’s family- you raised my wife in the hearing world, and now that her hearing loss has worsened you get upset when we use sign language? Berk off! How would you feel if you could no longer communicate with the people around you? If you woke up one day and the world was silent? Don’t you dare tell me it’s disrespectful to use a language you chose not to learn just because it makes you uncomfortable. I’m communicating with my wife! Motherberkeleyers...

How the F is it disrespectful to communicate with someone in a way that they can work with?  And the "good" option is to blithely ignore it??

I can't even.

Yeah, I’m pretty pissed. My wife has been hard of hearing since she was 4. Everything she’s learned about communication as a Deaf/hard of hearing individual she’s done on her own. Growing up she had hearing aids, learned how to lip read, and otherwise compensated for her hearing. About three years ago, she took an ASL class and our whole world changed. Now, if we’re at a family function and she can’t understand someone, it’s okay, but if we sign and they can’t understand us, that’s wrong?!?!

Its why we’re contemplating moving to New Mexico...

It's not just sign language- my wife can (sometimes) give me a look and I know what she is saying to me.   So your family gets upset?   They need to pound sand.

I'm starting to see a parallel between this and people who complain that everyone in the world doesn't speak English.  "Quit talking foreign, when in America you speak American!"

Found out mice really like camping out on top of the radiator of the tractor now that I've put in a block heater-- the top was deep in little hantavirus seeds.

Finally completed a 12-week training plan on the bike with at least much better than historical "attendance" and my functional threshold power only came up about 4%. Which isn't nothing, but given how low-hanging-fruit my starting point was, I was hoping for closer to 10... Oh well, I'll kick off another next week and see if I can stack another 4% on top.

I suppose... I should really do some work on the other part of the power:weight thing.

If they're like my in-laws the see it as her "trying to be the center of attention". I was also surprised my family turned out to be the more understanding and helpful bunch given our track record.

I was listening to the Highwaymen this morning.  Is anyone else bothered that aside from Willie, an actual Bandit, the rest are workplace deaths? One is just clumsiness in a construction site.

After traveling Europe, it galvanized my opinions on language.  So many people bent over backwards to help me when I was a guest in their countries.

I came to this realization: what if those "gawl durn Messakins" are here on holiday?  Saving for years, a man takes his family to a place that he views as great and amazing. And then is made to feel unwelcome and unwanted. What a tragedy that might be.

I alway challenge those knuckle daggers to find in any federal publication an official language of the United States with a $100 bet. No one has ever had the balls to take me up on it.

Why is it that during the week I get about 3-4 hour of sleep each night, wake up tired, but go asnd smash the rest of the day fine, but get a decent amount of sleep (6hrs) on Sunday, and I have a massive, debilitating headache? I have a E36 M3 load of work to do, except this work around the house, I don't get paid for. berkeley you, brain, I'm getting real tired of your E36 M3.

That man is not just a jackoff he is dangerously wrong a lot.

Tech tip.

Already done. Seriously he is just bad info on top of bad info on top of E36 M3 safety.

I work at a dealer. I have more than one mechanic (some are actually "certified") who think the guy is the ultimate in automotive knowledge. Needless to say, these guys are not the best at diagnostics.

I saw a news piece yesterday on a community - about 40 people in all, they said - who started taking sign language classes of their own accord, just so they could communicate with a little girl in their neighborhood who can't hear. I wish all humans were that selfless and kind.

My minor rant for the day: I seem to have lost my admittedly small collection of tools. 99% of them anyway. I last used them at the junkyard a few weeks ago, I hope I didn't leave them there accidentally. (Ironically, the only tools I have left are a pair of 10 mm sockets that were floating around in the car when I went looking for the rest of the set.)

Dad's wife, don't try to guilt trip me in to visiting your nasty ass house that you two decide to wet vac 10 minutes prior to anyone's arrival for Christmas. "Should've told us sooner before we bought presents and stocking stuffers." The kid has been sick and I shouldn't have had to say anything other than, "No, we're not going." Now who looks like the shiny happy person? The only time you two even try to see her is on Christmas, so piss off.

Also woke up to the wagon pissing blue yesterday morning. Had to quickly diagnose where the hell the leak was coming from. Tugged on a hose and pop it went. Put a clamp on it, started the car and it make it worse. Amazon actually had the entire hose section for $45 aaand 8 minutes left to get it to arrive the same day. Kinda glad Amazon now ships some things on Sunday.

I get that it's hard to see around my enclosed car trailer but I'm going as fast as the car in front of me and following as closely as I safely can.  If you pass me and pull in front of me that just means I have to slow down enough to let you in and annoy the person who was behind you.

Got in the truck today to send off my mystery gift, turned the key and absolutely nothing but the theft light. berkeley, fine. Get the charger, pot it on, and it pegs on full charge. But it also locked the truck, with my keys and phone inside.

AAA comes, pops me open. I check and replace my negative terminal which looked loose. Truck locks again. Ok I have my keys this time. Nope, ignition key doesn't work in either door.

Hop on Amazon, see "free one day shipping" on a lockout set, decide to go to pep boys first for another terminal extension, and decide to get my fob battery changed because it wasn't doing anything with the battery hooked up either. While I'm waiting I get back on Amazon to order a lockout kit, and now the soonest delivery available on the dozen different ones I tried in my cart is Saturday.

Shop my grm mystery gift is going to be late getting out, as it's locked in my truck.

And the new key fob battery doesn't do anything

Double exit. And neither did all new battery terminals with solid connections.

How do I troubleshoot something I can't open?

Triple edit: wow thanks YouTube. 5 seconds, no keys, truck unlocked. Still acting like it has no juice at all though
