I would have thought you were next too. If that guy next to you took 15 minutes are you supposed to wait for him?

I went to college at Nashville Auto Diesel College and I remember multiple teachers going "Real technicians don't use hammers. If something isn't coming apart, there's something wrong. And torches are for body work." I was sitting there going "This is the most Southern E36 M3 I've ever heard."

How are you supposed to knock a ball joint or tie rod taper loose if you can't whack the knuckle with a sledge?
The easy way to pull straight ball joints out is an 8 foot prybar, a "Chrysler hook", an assistant for gravitational purposes, and an air hammer straight up on the knuckle. Ziiip and out. And a die grinder to clean the rust ridge out of the knuckle so the ball joint slides back in.

They also told us to never use test lights. Hilariously wrong, since all GM diagnostic documents tell us to use test lights, and loaded voltage drop tests using a halogen bulb have become GM's go-to
That isn't wrong, in the sense that test lights are not to be used *everywhere*, but they do have their purposes.
I love my Power Probe, and want to get the Hook now that I know that it can simulate sensor voltages. Coooool.
How many times does the universe need to remind me that I'm dangerously incompetent and should not be doing motorsports in any capacity?
Most recently it was my inability to - of all things - remove a valve stem cap.
Edit: Yes, I realize the irony of posting about this level of ineptitude on a website where people do things like build electric cars from scratch. Sucks to suck.
Wife: "Can you try to do the checkout for the kroger pickup order? It won't let me."
Me: Does that.
Me: "Okay, order is placed"
Wife: "Nevermind, I got it to go through."
Me: ...
Is every late model Cherokee owner a complete cock? Because every late model Cherokee acts like it's being driven by a complete cock.

Which is why I chuckled at Toyman and his Bentley's "rust."
I spent months rebuilding the front, hatch area, and roof on a rusty FB. Cut, form, weld, and do it again, and again followed by fill, sand, fill, sand, prime, sand, prime... I know what a tiny rust bubble can turn into. No interest in doing that again.
The cold isn't why you couldn't pay me enough to live up north. Its the rust and the 3 month boating season. Given a choice between a blown engine and rust, I'll take the blown engine every time.

Wimp. I've gotten 7 months the past 3 years.

I've ridden an un-fared motorcycle 8-9 months out of the year.

I get 12 months every year and have for the last 55 years.
I can't even work on assignments, this has me so rip-roaringly pissed.
Nursing school has a strict policy on late assignments, but all my teachers rarely see or grade them for weeks at a time. For tons of us, our current grades in classes are D's simply because one teacher doesn't grade E36 M3 for 3 weeks, and when we typically have 6-7 assignments due every single week (sometimes 10 or more) it's easy to loose track of what you're doing and when.
This just bit me in the ass in a huge way. two assignments- the first 50 points- wasn't graded for 20 days (!) but was the answers for a different assignment. I pulled it open from the website we take them from and showed I took it before it was due- doesn't matter! It's late! ZERO!
But the REAL E36 M3? Another one is a 215 point care plan. That teacher didn't see it for a week, and now hasn't responded to email or text for 4 days. Sheer incompetence might make me fail the nursing program, and if it does I'm going to another college and burning my bridges, I am NOT berkeleying dealing with the petty bullE36 M3 of a program that can't even keep their student's clinical schedule straight, or hides behind "We can change the syllabus at any time".

And zero snowmobile season, or pond hockey season. Your loss there.

Not to diminish your very much justified rant in any way: I’d like to point out that regardless of what the instructors may think you’re the customer here. If you have time stamped evidence I’d recommend making an appointment with the appropriate administrator in the nursing program before taking a failing grade because their employees didn’t do their jobs. I read a statistic today that in my state alone there are 19,000 healthcare jobs open, I’d like to think they should value your efforts to get training in a field that needs the skills.
Keep the goal in sight and push through the bullE36 M3, once you’ve got your license you’re in a much better place.

I can ice skate any time I want to break something at the local rink (never) and jet boat > jetski > snowmobile. So no, no loss.
Im super glad you like where you live as much as I like where I live. We should stay where we are.
NextDoor was on fire this morning over a door camera video of a kid being E36 M3ty and taking more candy then they should have from an unattended bowl. Yes the kid was in the wrong, but you'd have thought he was a hardened criminal from the comments being made, complete with assumptions about his family. Stay classy NextDoor!

I always thought it was a bit telling that higher education is the one business where employee parking was closer to the door than customer parking....

I've now found thanks to the other teacher I was waiting on- who thankfully isn't taking ANY points off because this might be an IT issue- that it's happening to multiple people. It shouldn't even have happened to me, because all my assignments are titled with the finished date and full title of the item.
I'm gonna be finding someone higher than the program director. That person... well, just a few weeks ago we recruited her along with other educators to find a classmate of our who had a mental breakdown and panic attack because of the demands of the program, and her reaction about it has been callous. Half my class in the program has dropped in the last month.
How is it, one guy can be in a relationship, and can cheat multiple times with multiple women and still find another partner at the drop of a hat,
And I can't even get a chance at a first date. What is wrong with me?

Absolutely nothing.
You're just not looking to date the kind of person that would cheat with a known cheater.

The kind of online reprobates you associate with.

Empathy and compassion for others who are potentially having the worst day or days of their life is a very big part of what makes a nurse exceptional at their job. It's upsetting to hear that someone deeply involved in training nurses is handling a student's mental health issue poorly. The lack of empathy for your classmate speaks volumes about the program director in my opinion. With that said I'm in no way saying that the training program shouldn't be rigorous with high standards or that everyone will be able to handle the demands of the program. There's a pretty obvious reason why there need to be high standards and rigorous training but that's a red flag right there. Good luck finding the right person to set this straight, we need y'all to be successful.
