For the most part, they try to keep them totally separate. Athletics is for entertainment, and separate opportunity. Athletics needs to pay for itself.

I really hate it when you purchase something online and then find out that they shipped it by FedEx after it's been shipped.

I try to avoid FedEx like the plague as they either have outright lost a few packages or the packages that actually get delivered arrive as a pile of cardboard with a shipping label on it.

This time I purchased 2 gallons of Zep Industrial Purple Degreaser from Wally World. It was drop shipped from Zep and had no status updates for 5 days. Then it was marked as delayed. Now it's marked as undeliverable due to damage.

berkeley you FedEx!

I got the Shingles vaccine on Thursday. On Friday we had some friends over and I had a couple Mai Tais. I felt like crap Friday night and yesterday morning. Then I actually got a little woozy yesterday. I decided I must have overdone it even though we had two Mai Tais a few times in the last couple weeks with no issues. This morning I woke up and felt like crap again. I looked at the info sheet that they gave me after I got the shot and saw this.

I've had all but the shivering. Yea.

I have had 4 doses of the COVID vaccine didn't have any side effects like this.

I'm not OCD about very many things.  I can get filthy without concern. I can put things in permanently temporary buckets. But, I do like my toolboxes organized. Not having to treasure hunt for a socket for 20 minutes is paramount.

The toolbox at work is a colossal mess. E36 M3 jammed and dumped wherever. I opened it up looking for a 3mm Allen key. Took one look...and slowly closed the drawer. No. No, f-dat mess. No. Just no. I can't fix that.

Funny but not funny, guy we worked with got fired on Friday. Not everybody knew, but he was trying to run a roofing business on the side, and eventually something had to give. When the boss was telling us, somebody asked why and I said, he kept calling in with shingles.

Everybody eventually got it

The only vaccine that my mom was reluctant to get- for my immunocompromised stepbro- was the Shingles vaccine. I think she was layed up for 4 days and even took time off from work during it.

Mmm yeah. I'm far from neat but one of the things that bugs the heck out of me at work is spending time hunting for tools instead of getting stuff done because someone didn't put stuff back where it goes.

It happens a lot frown and it's definitely certain people who are usually to blame.

First off, I am sorry for anybody this might offend.

I have to ask the question though: What is it about Chrysler vehicles that seems to bring out the shiny happy person in their drivers? If I see a Sedan driving like a E36 M3head is behind the wheel, it is either a 300 or a charger. Same with the Challenger. The worst offenders though are the Ram Truck owners. They are the absolutely most aggressive  asshats on the planet.

Shingles vaccine kicked my ass, too.  I'm still going back for the second dose in a few months.  It was way better than when I actually had shingles.  The doctor is hoping the vaccine will help with some of the recurring nerve pain I have from getting it.  Apparently, it helps some people.

+1 on Ram drivers. I noticed that about 20 years ago. I mentioned that to my co-workers. Naw, they said. Couple weeks later they said 'you're right'.

BMW drivers used to be bad, not so much anymore. Kia, Hyundai and Toyota drivers have taken that over now.

They are relatively cheap, high powered vehicles with a company that will finance anything with a pulse. Of course E36 M3heads are attracted to such things.

What kind of car do you think Randy drives?

I too have noticed that when someone is all over my rear bumper (when I'm in the right lane), it's most often the most miserable looking individual (usually with a goatee) driving a RAM.  I can almost hear them saying angrily "get outta my way" when they're behind me.

My rant.  After getting a panicked "THIS HAS TO BE DONE NOW!!!!!", I dropped everything to help someone get something done on Thursday of last week.  For a project that wasn't mine.  Sent back to them so they could get it out the door on Thursday.  What did this person do?  They sat on it until this morning when they sent it back to me for revisions, again saying "THIS HAS TO BE DONE NOW!!!!!"

Understood. I know several people who have had it.

When I was in the USAF we had a week between trainings. I thought it was kind of ridiculous to have all these people waiting around doing nothing for a week. The Monday of the break we were all required to get a Typhoid vaccine. I honestly think that was the sickest I've ever been. You know it's bad when you can't decide which end to put on the toilet. Instead I was sitting on the toilet with a trash can in my hand all night. That was a rough week. I always think that if the vaccine was that bad it would be horrible to actually get Typhoid Fever.

Don't Ram's have the highest percentage of DUI driver's by almost double?

It's The Drive so no guarantees but;

linky

Looking at their cited article, it looks like NSX drivers though. I wonder if the link changed in two years.

This makes me miss having a miata. Someone going 20 under? Scream at them, they'll move. Sitting at a red light until it turns red again? Scream at them, they'll move. Try to change lanes into you? Scream at them, they'll move. Too many people trying to put their vehicle where yours is? Paint it multiple shades of primer and all of a sudden a miata is a moving highlighter that gets space on all sides.

Now, driving the biggest SUV ever sold, it's basically invisible despite the goldish color and people can't hear me yell at them. It kinda sucks.

See them? I HEAR them all the time. They have to blip the throttle at stop lights and driving through the mall more than Harley riders.

They need people half a mile away to know, "IT'S GOT A HEMI!!!!!"

Ok, as an engineer I concede and largely accept that writing reports is going to occupy at least as much of my time as actually doing the work that will go into them. And honestly, I don't mind writing- to an extent I enjoy it. What I don't enjoy, however, is spending more time formatting a berking report in Word than I spend actually writing the document.

I feel like clearing the board, and selling all my cars (except for the ratty Miata) and parts, and buying one new car.  I know I'd regret it, but I am tired of all of them constantly needing something.  I need something I can hop in and not worry about a noise or a vibration or whatever.

When I had my Excursion I used to remark that my turn signals were not requests.  They're a warning.  If someone was doing that thing where they'd fly up on my left and then match my speed, all I had to do was start drifting left and they'd nope out of there fast.  Double-fast when the trailer was attached.  And if I needed to get over a lane and no one wanted to let me in, all I had to do was start changing lanes and they'd clear out.  The Miata may have the agility to get out of harm's way, but the Ex was a terrific tool to bully.

Hey. Hospital. You just gave my wife a job offer. My wife, with 10+ years of experience, a Master's degree, has set up 3 different versions of the program you're trying to set up. That job listing? It is worth 10+ years experience, a masters degree, and exact experience for this. Wanna know what wasn't worth it? Your job offer.

Good luck with the new graduates you're going to get at that pay.
