I suppose this belongs here. Cancer sucks.
Just put SWMBO and the girls on a plane to California so she can say goodby to her younger (35) sister. They had thought that she had months, just got word yesterday that it's a matter of days.
Beautiful, bright, educated, successful mother of two and her first inkling that something was wrong was back pain due to metasticised cancer in her spine.

Sounds similar to my uncle. He's only 56 with two beautiful kids who are starting their adulthood. Last week he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, metastasized to the liver. Bad enough that they can't do surgery or radiation. His 5 year survival chances are less than 2%, his 2 year is probably 15%.
His first indication was something he and the doctors just thought was a kidney stone; and it was just a kidney stone--they just happened to see something on the liver during the scan. Too late.
I can't believe these things happen. Your family is in my prayers.
Samsung Evo 32 Gb Micro SD card, 3 months old, no longer recognized in my phone or any other device I've tried it in. I have back ups of the Alaska trip pictures I took on my phone, but everything since mid June to today is gone...
My surround sound receiver died. It was a berkeleying expensive pioneer, and a fantastic unit for years.
Now I have to replace it because the rheostat for the volume no longer registers turns to the right.
I ain't got the money for this. ...
was following an Acura to work today.. bone stock. He was so concerned with not running over any bumps or potholes that he was actually driving on the wrong side of the road for a while...
I could make some allowance if it had been one of the Stanced cars that run around here, but this car was disgustingly stock
Grammar Nazi.
The term, not the people who are strict about grammar.
It's meaningless. Nazi's are not a group of people who were really strict about following the rules. They are a group of people who were really excited about mass genocide, Antisemitism, and a homogeneous society. Associating people who are strict about grammar with Nazi's is doing a disservice to the lives lost fighting off that force, as well as those who died as a result of their actions.
And it doesn't make any sense, anyway. Not unless Grammar Nazis are people who wish to kill off any letter combinations that they don't like on a worldwide quest for domination.
Stop using the term Grammar Nazi, please, internet.

First, if Windows asks anything about formatting, don't do it.
Does nothing happen at all if you plug it in?
Sadly when flash storage fails, there's often nothing you can do to recover the data (see why I warn you, SSD lovers?), but if it's just filesystem damage you can probably get your pics back.
Puppy (well, I call him that, but he's 80lbs and approaching 5 years old... ) should hopefully get his stitches out tomorrow. IF he can keep from licking them and getting the site infected (again). Had to put the cone on him this morning so SWMBO could go to an appointment, and the little sneak managed to get out of it.
Still trying to find a good dirt-cheap winter beater. Found another Miata that is cheap and just has some body damage that should be easy to deal with, but SWMBO is set enough that whatever I get have a back seat so if necessary the puppy could be hauled around in it too, so for now I guess Answers (as well as FCs, AW11s, and Fieros...) are out.
Use a partition manager (diskmgmt.msc on Windows) to look at what partitions you have, do you see the drive in there? If you're a noob run it before and after plugging the microSD in and see if there's any difference.

I know you computer literate people mean well when you write things like this but I swear reading that my brain defaulted to "Charlie Browns teacher" and all I heard was wah wah wahh wah
My Buell's exhaust has finally rusted out all the way. So I ordered a slip-on I'd been eyeing for a while, which was "In Stock" in BIG GREEN LETTERS in the seller's Amazon store. Seller says "We have to order that from the manufacturer, who will be custom welding it. It will ship in a week." berkeley you! You said it was in stock, THAT IS THE ONLY REASON I ORDERED FROM YOU.
Decided this year I'd take better care of my lawn, turning over a new leaf, be a real yard man like my 'ol Dad. Dethatched early, Grub-Ex to rid moles and then Weed n Feed, lawn sweeper too. Gots me some good new lawn care equipment on my new path.
My yard is still brown, maybe next year.

Whatever pops up in my yard has been deemed 'native grasses' and I just knock them down with the mower every so often. Happiness is mine!

I flatly hate lawn care, but sadly also end up having one of the few lawns in the neighborhood that actually looks decent most of the time for the simple fact that I actually mow it regularly. I may hate yard work, but I hate the house looking abandoned more!
Mother Nature AKA lack 'o rain made it brown despite my best efforts. I ain't that anal to water it. Taught me a berkeleying lesson.

you know how to find me if you want to get a hold of me, I can pass along contact info to share with your uncle as well. Sounds like it shot through the pylorus, which is where mine is/was located. Ideally you want modified whipple resection procedure. If you don't mind me asking, where is he located? If they won't do surgery, radiation or chemo, even with the metstasization to the liver (jacked up liver enzymes are what started them looking on me, along with a tumor on the head of my humorous, thankfully somehow, my spine was spared) it's time to seek a second opinion regarding treatment. You only get once shot to go to war with this beast, and you have to go in there guns blazing ready to berkeley E36 M3 up. University of Maryland has been great for me, their program fit better then Hopkins surprisingly, UCLA has a great program, that I considered heading west to receive treatment there. I also considered the MD Anderson center in Texas. He needs to quickly do research and go all in.

Thanks.
He is doing chemo, I may have mis-spoke. They cannot do surgery, and they can't do radiation since it is the entire liver.
He is at Northwest Community in the northwest suburbs of Chicago, and has had or will be getting second opinions from both University of Chicago and Northwestern University (which is different from Northwest Community).
The chemo plan and treatment are starting next week, unless NU and/or UoC has drastically different things to say.
In reply to mtn:
you didn't mention chemo one way or the other, i wanted to make damn sure that it was being done though. Radiation without chemo really is just to help with pain, as twisted and counterproductive as that may seem, when it comes to pancreatic cancer. It's not like prostate where they can cut it out and just blast it with radiation and walk away. Well maybe university of chicago could blast it away with radiation, they're good with projects like that.
