Sounds like you need an appointment with Dr Nick to discuss your diet!

Yup. We always try to give food--apple, banana, half a pack of oreos that happened to be in the car...

Thing is, at least in the Tulsa area, the true homeless folks don't panhandle; they don't have to to stay fed, due to the very generous amount of charitable kitchens here. Pandling, to them, IS work. Around here, the panhandlers are professionals, no matter how dirty OR clean they may appear. When they are done for the day, the hick/un-educated accents disappear and they live the good life. I work evenings at the downtown Domino's Pizza and have gotten to know some of the real street people by name, and have heard the truth from their own mouths.

Hehehe. Nah, my problem isn't lack of junk food, but excess of exercise. Besides, someone has to do it anyway.

I also have this crazy habit of being protective of the people I supervise, and not wanting to hand over the most uncomfortable or hazardous tasks to them.

That simply means that I wouldn't give anyone anything, since they are all fed. No problem!

My office mate is listening to Newsboys, I think I had a prior, vague, recollection of their existence, but I didn't know I hated Newsboys until now.

The new toolbox that I bought and ended up not liking got a big scratch in it somehow.

So, now I can't sell it in "perfect as new" condition. And I also don't want to keep it because it will piss me off every time I see the chipped paint. So the only logical option I have is to scrap it, since I refuse to give it away for less than $900, but if I scrap it then I am just scrapping junk metal.

I'm pretty sure that's the 11th commandment.

Why? I can't keep it because its existence pisses me off. I can't morally sell it to someone because I would be selling them a defective item.

If you point out its damaged, then you are selling it in the condition as described. Adjust the value accordingly. No moral dilemma there.

I, uh, am headed to the junkyard and could swing by & pick up yer junk, to save you the time and all. Yeah, headed to the scrapyard right now. That's the ticket. To the junkyard, just me and my wife, Morgan Fairchild.......

Three feedwater pumps that could be valved to supply any one boiler and last night at 2 a.m. the auxiliary pump quit. Woulda been dead in the water if not for 125# of city water. Rather easy fix, two sets of contacts and we're back to two outta three pumps. Why can't they take care of this E36 M3 on daylight? I need my rest.

Beginning to have doubts about this place.

I don't sell cars either. If they are good, I keep them. If they are not good, I scrap them because I can't accept money for non-good things.

This is generally why I tend to give stuff away instead of selling it. I don't feel bad about it that way.

Fair enough. A little more extreme than most, but certainly honest.

You can't sell it for less than original price? The person buying it would be happy to get such a deal. You would be bringing joy to a person who will appreciate it, non-good paint and all.

Since our latest mayor took office we've been inundated with these guys. Real homeless people had been hard to find around the touristy areas like Midtown or Times Square because the police would move them along. Now the police aren't enforcing quality of life crimes these kids have popped up everywhere. They almost look like a franchise where they dress the same and have similar signs. The sad part is since these kids are clean and fairly well dressed people give them quite a bit of money while ignoring the actual homeless people that could use the money.

You've worked at animal shelters, you know not to get in the face of a worked up barking dog, and yet, you did. At least he only drew a little blood, first time ever for the ~10 year old grumpy dog.

The following lyric pretty much sums up my take on Progressive Socialism, and the current EPA antics that are being driven by it:

The first thing you know;

They civilize left, They civilize right, Till nothing is left, And nothing is right!

They civilize freedom Till no one is free. No one except By coincidence, me

Apparently, to change the starter in a 231 V6 Monza/Skyhawk/whatever you have to drop the Y pipe out, this requires many swivels I didn't bring with me. You also can't get the flywheel shield off without the starter loose or the Y pipe out.

On the plus side, Oreilly gave us a high torque starter, the one with the standoff on the solenoid.

And on the other side, we want our Constitution for them, but nobody else.

Nice flounder.

Personally, I'd rather protect MY environment at YOUR expense. :)
