Yup. Actually crushed. He was very apologetic and I understand the owner reamed him out. They cut me a cheque so all is good.

to the gentleman who gave me the finger this morning: just because you failed to pass me before the lanes merged and had to back off and get behind me does not give you the right to honk, scream, holler, and extend said finger. I did nothing to keep you from getting around me, I did not speed up and I actually put two wheels over the shoulder line to let you figure out what you were doing. Next time I suggest the gas pedal instead of the middle digits of your hands

I know a few 50 year old rear ends that will take the Pepsi challenge with that trans any day of the week.

I'm pretty sure a license in Jersey does allow him to do that. It may even be in the road test.

Burnt/ way over used ATF is my least favorite smell we deal with often. If you figure it out please let me know.
Well, between the acid reflux, sleep apnea and 2 cats that decided to randomly yowl all berkeleying night, I probably got 30 minutes of sleep. So glad I have my annual review today.
First thing this morning a YUGE fly was buzzing around my bathroom. I grabbed the hand towel to swat at it (still sluggish and sleepy). Second swing I snagged hand towel hanger and half pulled it from the wall.
Guess who gets to repair that after work? Sigh

Are you currently in treatment for sleep apnea as in CPAP? Better get that done if not.

get checked for Barrets esophagus - wife has it. Our bed is inclined which helps a lot.
Looks like November is going to suck again just in time for my birthday. Two years ago my Dad passed six days before my birthday. Last year my daughter was born the day before Thanksgiving, so that was good. This year my cousin who has been fighting a congenital heart defect all her life (and is my age, 38) is staring down the possibility of hospice due to her kidneys shutting down. She isn't a transplant candidate due to the myriad of other problems she has, plus the anti-rejection drugs alone would probably kill her.
I'm supposed to be getting our house fixed up for a combined Daddy/Daughter birthday party this weekend, but between trips to the hospital and not really understanding how my cousin went downhill so fast I'm just stumbling along. My wife went all out inviting everyone we know to the party, but I'm afraid my side of the family will be borderline on a funeral dirge.
Looks like I'm on a "hooray November/berkeley November" rotation.
Could be worse I guess. My Dad had a stroke on my Mom's birthday years ago. She dealt with it pretty well as he got better. Then 9/11 happened, which is also her birthday. Now we celebrate her birthday on the 12th.

But that would require getting off of cruise control!
Overall had a really good and much needed escape from the majority of reality over the weekend out a nearby State Park, but it wasn't all good. We have been weighing trying to either purchase a cabin there to use ourselves and rent out, but after staying at the most affordable of those to purchase have determined that it's just not right for us- and after driving by the more affordable pieces of land in the area where we could potentially build our own, none of them look like they'd work well either (too far from anything scenic/almost in a suburb/no view) so that idea is for the time being stymied.
And SWMBO has gotten very sick- again. Apparently another sinus infection, which she's had problems with the last few years around this time. Unfortunately the first time the antibiotics they put her on, while they did knock out the sinus infection caused a whole other arguably worse problem such that she refuses to go and get antibiotics for it. But the sinus infection makes it really difficult to breathe and the drainage makes her nauseous.
Earlier this year, my wife bought an M3D 3D printer. We printed two small models from Thingverse and it worked well but then on our third print, it crapped out and acted like the nozzle was clogged. I cleaned it up, and then didn't really do anything with it. Recently, I had some spare time to start playing with some 3d modeling software and was able to successfully print a small model of my own creation. Great. It was a very tiny model that I made just as a kind of "hello world" thing to see how everything worked, so I created a larger model and went to print it. Halfway through it crapped out. So I cleaned things up, did a bunch of reading on the internet, and tried again. This time, halfway through the extrusion got real spotty instead of being a nice steady stream of plastic.
Technical support gave me a few things to try. Apparently they design it with a nice place to put the spool of filament under the bed plate, but if you actually use that, it doesn't work. Thanks guys.
After making their suggested changes, I tried to print my model again. This time, it stopped and locked up right away. After resetting my computer a few times and power cycling the printer, I tried to swap USB cables. The damned USB port came off of the PCB inside the printer. They just attached it to the surface-mount PCB but didn't use any sort of bracket or mounting pins to secure it. So now I've got a really nice expensive brick.

I know her pain, I'm dealing with the tail end of a particularly nasty sinus infection. What's worse is that now the local doc in a boxes are afraid to prescribe nearly anything more potent than OTC meds unless you've been suffering for weeks, so you're basically on your own for a bit to find a remedy that works or wait until you've gotten a bad URI, bronchitis or the beginnings of pneumonia.
I understand we can't pop antibiotics like candy, but it seems like there'd be a happy medium between Dayquil and the Z-pak that could be readily available for cold season.
First day on the new job. Couldn't sleep and feeling like E36 M3. Now I am worried about making a bad first impression.

Not uncommon these days. I'm just surprised that manufacturers haven't backed off of this cheapskatery even after the consequences have been observed.
One of my remote computers (the one with the best public-IP Internet connection, I need these as tunnel access points to get into my home network on a large-scale NAT) is suddenly offline and there's probably nothing I can do about it until at least April, great. Guess I shouldn't be surprised, it's a laptop with a failing graphics adapter and the hard drive had been throwing SMART warnings for a while now...again, well after there was anything I could do about it.
Funny enough it's an almost brand-new computer that's hardly been used (good thing I didn't pay for it), I don't think I'll be buying any Acer laptops any time soon!
Seriously, how the berkeley am I able to get a hold of NO ONE all damn day at Regressive's claims center? Left a message with my claims rep at 8:30 this morning, heard nothing between then and lunch so I called again and left another message. Finally, I receive a voicemail left at 2:57 (somehow my phone never actually rang) and attempt to call back within 3 minutes...yet again no berkeleying answer. I've called another half dozen times since and still nothing.
Looks like I'm going to be shopping car insurance soon, this customer service is bad enough to make Comcast look good.

I asked a friend of mine who owns a collision repair shop what the worst insurance is to deal with. He said Progressive by far. Trouble getting them to pay, they always want to use used/junkyard parts, always want to try and short on labor. Allstate was a near second.
I don't have Amazon Prime so I thought I'd go look at YouTube to see if anyone had ripped the new Tour and posted it yet. Literally hundreds of trolls had already posted videos of garbage and are calling it episode 1. I hate people.
In reply to KyAllroad:
Even if they had, it wouldn't have lasted long there. There are other sites that are a bit more under the radar that might have it, but why not support it financially? If the BBC had made TG available online for a reasonable price, I wouldn't have "stolen" it for so long.
Amazon lowered the price for Prime to $79/year for new members and given the amount of content that gives you access to, its worth it. This content includes TG UK Seasons 2-17 with Prime and the rest for pay for play.
Prime membership can be cancelled for free after 30days, so why not try it?
Common sense, or logic. More so, the lack thereof.
V8 Toyota pickup in the shop for a timing belt service. Toyota makes a kit, designed for this specific situation. It includes a belt, both idlers, the tensioner, the waterpump with all seals and gaskets, and two cam seals.
And no berkeleying crank seal.

It's sort of fun waking up and seeing my wife sliding down the bed.
I've been sleeping on the floor downstairs for the last three nights, so my "bed" is flat now.
