Not sure. They keep bouncing around. Pretty much said doesn’t need surgery, see an orthopedist and then he ran off for a sling.

Damn Wally, I was going to say you can't seem to catch a break but now it seems in poor taste. Hope you heal up quick!
Jay said:I like my car. I like the looks, the size, the design, the performance, the level of features, I LOVE the interior and the driving position, I like the fact that it's grey-market, opposite-side drive, & nobody else around here has one, and most importantly, I like driving it. It's one of the best I've had, and I have absolutely no want to replace it.
I don't want to burn gasoline anymore.
The elephant in the room has made its presence known, and it's pretty clear that plugging our ears & shouting that nothing is wrong isn't a solution. And we need to come to a solution. There are plenty, but none of them are going to happen on their own without people like us taking steps.
I'm trying hard to reconcile these two things. If I could plonk down seven grand and have an assemble-it-yourself EV conversion kit that worked 70% as well as a modern EV, I would be seriously considering it. Why isn't this a thing??
BTW hi guys.
866 pages of rants, impressive. :P
Seven grand will buy you one of a few different used EVs. You can even keep the dinosaur for limited use. Keeping it and adding an EV means you're likely to run less gas through it than the next owner.
Depending on your needs, that could be something like a Kandi Koco, or more likely, something highway ready and relatively conventional like a LEAF, Smart ED or i-MiEV.
You're also avoiding environmental costs of building new EV running gear.
Keep the gas car around for fun every once in a while, and let the cheap EV take the wear and tear, and the shorter, environmentally dirtier trips.
Just a thought.

Damn, Walls! That sucks. Good luck, man.
Miata is dead. Battery has been on the edge, but now it’s gone. (It is a lawnmower battery... The PO is the one that put it in before I got it.)
Tried to jump start this morning, not sure if my boost pack was not charged enough or if I’ve blown some fuses or something.
No dash lights, though occasionally I can get the door open alarm to beep.
Drove almost 2 hours to look at a car, texted the owner last night and again before I left and he texts me 5 min out to tell me that he sold it to someone else.
I hate people most days.
Tried to help a guy with a flat in a grass field. Muddy grass field.
Van from up north. Spare tire carrier rusted into place. After i broke my tire iron and his, as well as got rust in my teeth, mud in my shirt, and a reinjured left shoulder, i gave up.
I feel like a chump for getting my ass kicked by a rusty minivan.
so yesterday we had tidal flooding from the nor'easter. The high tide was 7 feet above normal. This means that two of the three highways into Atlantic City were underwater and closed. the only road in was the Atlantic City Expressway with it's 75 cent toll. It would have been very nice if they had waived the toll for the few hours the other roads were impassable.
The last few weekends can all be summarized by 'Snow would have rather been at work'
And no, Snow does not love his job, Snow simply hates being reminded every weekend of how awful he is at his hobbies.
It took a ton of cutting and grinding and grunt to finally get the rusted-out bumper off the emergency backup truck. Now getting the rusted out hitch off is proving even more difficult. It's getting late, but once I put the new bumper on, getting to the old hitch is going to be that much more difficult. So do I keep banging away on this or do I just throw the bumper on and plan to just pull it back off later? I guess the upside is that the new bolts won't be rusted making the removal pretty easy, all things considered.
Of course after I spend a day stripping all the hardware off of my sailboat, we are finally supposed to get decent weather. The past month has been rainy with small craft and gale warnings. Now that I can no longer sail my boat, the weather turns nice.

I swear ALL recessed hitches come from the factory rusty and crusty as hell. I've never seen one that didn't look like it was painted with crushed Frosted Flakes.
Got essentially nothing done over the weekend on anything that I had wanted (garage cleaning/organization, last minor things on the Rampage before I can list it). Slept horribly last night and realized when The Dancer's alarm went off this morning (the one morning she has to be up earlier than I usually get up) that I had to get up as well instead of sleeping another half hour because I had an appointment for a shot at 8. Aaaand said shot hurt like hell (it's hit or miss, sometimes I can't even feel it, sometimes it feels like they heated it up to 400 degrees). And now I'm at work trying to stay awake... it's going to be a great day...

My dad and late grandfather (maternal, it was complications from it & Alzheimers that ultimately killed him) have/had type 2 diabetes, so I'm all too aware of how much fun that is. Having seen what they go through/went through and avoiding developing it myself is the #1 factor that drives my trying to keep my weight down and staying in shape far more than any other consideration...

Count me as doing that also. Had family members and friends diabetic. I'm classified as pre-diabetic and fighting to stay in that category. Diet, exercise and metformin is what I'm currently doing.
