I’m at my mother in law’s, and she was out so I was going to watch some comedy on Netflix (I don’t have it at home). She just walked in and and put on some basketball bracket show that she and my wife are very excited about. I could see them watching a game but this is just interviews and I guess seeding for a championship. It’s a bit less interesting than watching milk curdle.
Well, the other day the Suburban made some horrible bearing noises on my drive home. Like the sort that make you wonder if you’re gonna make it home kind of horrible noises. But then it went away and everything “seemed” fine so I chocked it up to quirky noises old trucks make.
Today I went to change the oil and saw a piece of belt hanging out :-(
Apparently the noise I heard was the AC belt tensioner pulley.......seizing. Something new to fix I guess.

Don't worry. I got seriously stuck trying to add seven and eight in front of my wife's friends the other night. If I was the type of person that got embarrassed I would be feeling pretty bad about myself.

I’m a math major, and I can do complex calculus, algebra, etc. with little to no issue and almost never make an error. But you give me simple arithmetic, and I’m hopeless and reaching for my phone, aka the calculator that I do carry with me everywhere.

I have a Buick Regal with a 2.0T in at work with a blown up engine. First I had to wait a week for the owner's weird aftermarket warranty to make up their mind on whether they wanted to cover the repair or not. Last Monday I get approval to put a used engine in. We order a used LTG 2.0T from a salvage yard and they say they'll have it to our dealership in 24 hours. It was Friday afternoon before we saw it. Start swapping it in today and discover they broke off the connector for the oil level sensor where it protrudes through the oil pan. Then learn that there is a sensor and a harness bolted inside the pan. So now I have to pull the front cover and oil pans off of both engine to swap everything over. Terrific. Who's paying me for this extra work?

Woke up yesterday with my left foot feeling like the coyote dropped a full size ACME anvil on it. No explanation as to what happened, nothing appears to be broken but it feels sprained and potentially inflamed.
Hobbling around the house doing my best capt'n peg leg impression while I watch the to do list grow. Grrrrrr.
Yay, and it's getting worse. I'm barely managing to get around the house today, after it got better yesterday. Time to try to see a doctor, methinks.
And that's on top of having to take almost three days off work last week thanks to a migraine.

Sounds like Gout. I have it, and have had identical symptoms. Drink lots of unsweetened cherry juice. That brings dihhareah, but relieves gout. Google it.
And, by all means, see a doctor.
Hang in there.
Gas station sushi for lunch. Not a wise decision. Again.
Friday we got a pile of papers about preparing for surgery. Nothing about a special pre-surgery cleaner. They called today at 2:30 to tell us to be in at 5:45 am tomorrow, and shower tonight and tomorrow with a special cleaner that any pharmacy should have. So far the first two have not had it. This should probably be in the packet so I would have had more than a couple hours for this scavenger hunt.

Three words that should never be used at the same time. I'm feeling a little queasy just from reading that.

Those are worse odds than Russian Roulette.

True.
I need to rethink my life choices, don't I?
In reply to Dusterbd13-michael :
I used to get these clearly homemade shrimp sandwiches at a little gas station in rural LA when I worked out there. Never had a problem so I figure something prepacked should be A-OK.
Man those were good.

Georgia Power took it upon themselves to replace the power line to my Mother's house, and their sub-contractor destroyed her phone box without tell her. She's been without a home phone for a few days now. AT&T can't get out for a few more days, but I can get new Comcast service by Monday. Hmmm...
What a coincidence! After I reported both AT&T and Georgia Power to the Georgia Public Service Commission there was suddenly an open slot to have the phone line repaired tomorrow morning. I was also contacted by the executive customer service teams for both companies. I hated to be the "I'd like to speak to a manager" person, but in this case it worked.
Huge company buys us. Lots of money. They change my logistics software to something that would barely pass as beta phase.

As someone recovering from major surgery, my thoughts and prayers go out to the two of you. That is a screw up on the wash, it should have been in the packet.
Hoping for a speedy recovery.

The words Gas Station Sushi. In Japanese, ガソリンスタンドの寿司. English/Japanese translation, Gasorinsutando no sushi.
I don’t remember if I’m in rants or confessions but this is a little of both.
rant: berkeley that goddamned sign up for the email newsletter pop-up.
confession: I’m dropping my presence on this forum *way* down because of that goddamned pop-up.
YouTube isn't loading videos for me again.

Add block plus and popup blocker. It takes out 95% of that crap. I had to take GRM off the white list because of the popups.

They have those things for iphones?
In reply to AngryCorvair :
Not sure.. They do for Android. I would assume they do for iOS as well.

Flush your browser cache and it will go away. They had a glitch and they fixed it, but there are cached versions of the various scripts, etc. that don’t automatically get updated.
The pop up isn’t that annoying to me, but it’s noticeable.
