In 1982 it was a statement on non-conformity. It was also a giant waving red flag for carloads of drunk hicks to kick your ass in the that special 5-on-1 way that courageous fellas like that tended to roll.

That would be Hot Topic. You guys must not have teenagers??? I actually like going to that store. Most of the clothes - if they even fit me - I'd look like a doofus wearing, but I always check out their music section and usually end up buying a CD I've never heard of before. So far, none of them have sucked.
