Reading through Donebrokeit's thread again, this post from 11GTCS caught my eye.

I'm also concerned about UltraClyde, he was a frequent poster that I haven't seen anything from in months. The last I remember was a trip he did to go pick up a boat he'd bought.
I remembered Dave from the Zoom calls we had earlier in the pandemic, but didn't know his name. I did remember that he worked for OdoBan. Their LinkedIn page is not often updated, so it didn't take long to find this:
He passed in August. This is heartbreaking. He always, always had a kind word on the forum, and was one of my favorite posters.
Here is a link to the obituary. There is another memorial video on that page, that I cannot figure out how to embed.
Crap. Enough of this already.
Damn, I thought he was one of the young guys, then I looked and he was about 10 years older than me, certainly well within the "too young" range for this kind of thing.
Didn't he have the backyard smoke shack build? I tried to go find it but I hit enough of his posts to get it REALLY dusty in here.
RIP UltraClyde, you will be missed.
That's a pair of 1975 model years, far far too young.
Oh lord no that's awful. Thank you for looking into it I'm just sorry it wasn't better news. :(
That's terrible. I was so excited for him with all the things he had going on and the new boat he went to get with his wife.
Two guys that were a year younger than me in one week. It just sucks. I am so sorry to his family.
In reply to mtn :
thanks for looking into a tough thing, terrible news.

Wow, what a shame. My condolences to his family.
Thank you for the news, and for the care it took to find and share it.

That's terrible news.
I was reading Donebrokeits thread and saw the note about UltraClyde. Have you all noticed others that haven't been around much that have you worried? I haven't looked yet but haven't seen much of Mezzanine though I don't think that's too uncommon.
Terrible news. Two great guys gone recently, both younger than me. So sad.
In reply to wawazat :
I haven't heard from GTXVette in quite a while, or Flight Service.
Ouch, that sucks. He was 12 years younger than I am.

I'm speechless, this is terrible news. Thanks for digging into it and posting mtn even if it wasn't the news we wanted to see this morning. Too young and too much to leave behind.
Edit. I just watched the tribute video his co workers put together for Dave. I only had a few back and forth conversations with him on here, I wish I'd had the chance to meet him in person. This sucks and 45 is too damn young.
I have been missing Bravenrace and worried about him. I sent him an email through the board but didn't hear back. I don't know his given name so can't follow up outside the board.
In reply to dculberson :
I can't say for sure, but I think Bravenrace just decided to take a break for a while.
I came here this morning to see if he has posted. I've honestly been thinking about Dave for months. I bought a truck from him several years ago and he was incredibly nice, went to his home twice and he walked me around and we chatted for a long time both times. Just heartbreaking. I had hoped he was just busy with work. I know he was involved in many things and will surely be missed.
unbelievable the number we have lost.
In reply to wawazat :
Oddly enough, MNDSM and myself just had a conversation about Racerfink a couple weeks ago because we hadn't seen him post here recently and he hasn't been on Xbox in over a year, I guess his faceplace page went away too, but then like magic he posted this week in a car liveries thread.
Sucks to hear about Ultraclyde. Now I'm starting to wonder how I missed him not posting. I thought I'd seen his avatar pop-up at least, maybe those were canoe threads.

The first in a long string of obscenities I just let out. Usually when someone on here dies it's not a huge shock - we knew they had cancer or were ill or injured. But the grim reaper just T-boned ultraclyde out of nowhere. Makes me think that if I had a lot of extra cash and free time I might get an implanted defib put in pre-emptively.
RIP David
