I have gotten another email from Motorsport Marketing P.O. Box 1568 Ormond Beach, Florida 32175 that wants me to win a GRM toolbox and has a GRM heading to the email.
Who is this?
I have gotten another email from Motorsport Marketing P.O. Box 1568 Ormond Beach, Florida 32175 that wants me to win a GRM toolbox and has a GRM heading to the email.
Who is this?
Well... The bottom of every page on this site says:
© Motorsport Marketing 2010
Its GRM/CMS, man.
(and I really want to win that box)
Clicking on the Enter Now it takes me to Racing Junk.com
While I trust GRM I'm not sure I trust Racingjunk
"RWM collects personal information from submitted Sweepstakes entries, which may be used in a variety of ways, including customizing features and advertising that appear on the Site. RWM reserves the right to market promotional offers for RWM's network of sites or via third party partners. Entrants may opt out of receiving future mailings or other information from RWM by sending an e-mail to optout@RacingJunk.com indicating their preferences." Yeah right, that's how I ended up getting most of my spam I'm fighting already. Definitely don't opt out to Rodale books your spam count will skyrocket.
That's OK Powar, you can have my chance at the box.
C'mon GRM if you want to give us neat stuff just do it yourself. You already have all our information.
Are you kidding? Don't open THAT!!! SPAM !! Nigerians !!!!! RUUUUUUNNNNNN.
.

.
You lower my odds of winning.
Interestingly when I clicked the unsubscribe button on the email it went to a totally different unsubscribe than GRM or Racingjunk.
"iBuilder users are strictly prohibited from using UCE (spam) in their marketing efforts, and are subject to immediate termination if they do so."
GRM if this is truly you then you need to do it in a more straightforward way with fewer 3rd parties involved.
Interesting that this shows up here so quickly. Yep, that email is from us. That's why our name is on it.
RacingJunk.com wanted to work with us and offered this contest to test the waters. We like them, we will be working more with them in the future, and some lucky reader (and no staff members) get a free giant toolbox. Who loses?
We use third party software to distribute these emails because it's way easier than me hitting "send" 68,000 times. Once you unsubscribe, it won't let us send you anything anymore, so please consider this choice carefully. You may wish you got the next email...
It's not you I'm fearful of, it's Racing Junk or whomever else you decide to share your information with in the future.
Too late, I've unsubscribed and will just have to live with my decision. I'd rather miss out than get bombarded by spam.

You're missing it. WE sent their message to you; we didn't sell or trade your name and information, it's safe and sound in our database. If you don't enter the contest, they will never know who you are.
If you choose to enter the contest that they are offering, you will be entered into their database to receive future mailings. I've been a member at RacingJunk for a while (The PRI show two years ago, IIRC.) and don't get any spam from them, only a newsletter every once in a while.
BTW, you might want to tell them to update their zip code database. Our zip changed at least two years ago, and they don't recognize it as valid yet
Where would I put another toolbox? Hmm. The garage is already very dense. I'll find a space.

+1
I do find some of their information requests a bit presumptuous. "Cell Phone" is a required field. Really..? And if I don't have one, or don't want to give it out?
I dunno if it's required, I didn't fill it out and I got no flinch from them. My correct zip code, on the other hand...
Mee Wantee big toolbox. I can always crank down the spiced ham filters later.
And, BTW, who decided mail that we DON'T want should be called SPAM? Seems exactly backwards to me.
I'd give a wingnut for that toolbox!
Course, I'm not eligible cause I work here an stuff. Don't suppose anyone would mind if someone here on staff won the box right?
and Racingjunk.com hasn't ever spammed me either. I wouldn't worry about it, it is just a way for us to partner with a company to get you guys more good gear.
Now I feel left out. Apparently my spam filter works a little too well. I'll let you make it up to me by sending me the toolbox. Or if not the toolbox, maybe a few stickers for the race car.
By the way, perfect timing on the homebrew go-kart article, my brother in law and I were just discussing building one for the munchkins.

You can also enter by clicking the banner at the top of the homepage (it alternates with the UTCC information, so refresh your browser if you don't see it.) or the smaller banner halfway down the main page.

Actually YOU didn't send it to me, Racing Junk did and if you'll follow the link and see the info THEY want and read their disclosures. By entering I'm entering into THEIR data system.

Anything you guys want to do on your own I'm fine with, but bringing in 3rd parties just puts our info in their systems and we have to worry about what they will be doing with it.
I saw the toolbox, and entered my info as fast as I could. Spam I can deal with, not winning a toolbox I cannot.
That has secks written all over it, but I think that it may be odd that the box is worth more than the car collections of most people here.......
You'll need to log in to post.
