Full disclosure. I'm the webmaster. I made the bracketing system. I tally the votes. I should have put this up a week ago so you could get in on the ground floor, but I forgot.
That said, it's still pretty darn cool if you haven't checked it out yet. Sometimes I get to do really cool stuff at work.

Thanks! I was not aware of Tristan da Cunha, I knew there were some South Atlantic islands, but that was about the extent of my knowledge. Now I must go there!
I am a bit unclear as to exactly what we are basing the vote on, and it is not made clear on the page either.
Is this a purely "best looking / cool picture", or "best representation of the topic / data" or "most interesting topic" kind of thing?

It's really whatever you want. This is just more of a "fun" thing we do to show some of the work we do over the year.
Last year's winner was of the Canary Islands. Looking at my voting stats, almost every citizen on that island voted. We even got thank you letters from the board of tourism.
Vote for anything you want for any reason!
I thought this thread was either a really neat NASA (space) website or a really interesting, and probably expensive, NASA (automotive) racing series.
Those images are fantastic!
