Found this CRX on the auction site, and it's pretty impressive. Black, 5-speed Si, with working A/C, and all-original OEM parts. To me it's about the best example I've seen in a long while. Got 6 more days to go, I wonder where the bidding will stop.
But wait, there's more. When was the last time you saw a clean 81 Prelude? Check out the carpets for pete's sake. I wish it were closer, or maybe I'm glad it isn't. These early cars are probably my favorite of the Preludes.

Tough call on the CRX. The Honda craze is long over, but examples like that are super rare. I'll be curious to see what it fetches. It would probably be a good investment car.
The Prelude is simply fascinating.
Wow!
I got a 1st generation Prelude for free back in 1988 because it had already gone to E36 M3. That was 24 years ago! I can't believe that there are any left. Especially in Pittsburgh.
I especially like the dealer-option 13" wheels on the Prelude. Pretty neat.
I like the picture of it sitting next to the NSX that's a pretty neat comparison.
I like the CRX, but couldn't the owner roll it out in the driveway for at least one photo of the whole car?
I always thought it was a shame that Honda killed the prelude. They were such pretty cars. I know their owners loved them and were very loyal
Strange tastes this guy has- The nimble NSX, the near mint Prelude, and a bloated, goofy Challenger.
The CRX is way overpriced. By the pics, it isn't any nicer than mine, and I got mine for almost half that price.

Maybe yours was way underpriced.

I predict that the CRX will sell for $11,000
Anyone else wanna play?
I predict bidding will end around $8K and will not meet reserve

lol wut
I'd say it's ridiculously underpriced at $5k
There is maybe a handful of CRX's in this country in that shape. Simple supply and demand should drive that price skyward.

Yeah, right. I guess I got a killer deal then.
Some of you are sounding like this car is a collector vehicle, which it is absolutely not. Yes, there is a cult following, but the actual sale values aren't that high. I shopped for 2 years for mine, and I wouldn't pay over $3500 for this car. I found several just like it. It's been repainted with the wrong paint, and the miles, while low, aren't that low.
If it was all original and had much lower miles, but this is just another CRX that appears to be clean, but who knows what that paint is covering up.
If any of you want a really clean CRX with a few more miles and the original paint, I'll gladly sell you mine for $10k.

People said the same things about the muscle cars that are fetching north of $100k now.

The CRX Si is most definitely a collectors car. I don't see how it's not.
It's unique, it's a blast to drive, it was born at the dawn of Honda's best years, it can actually be daily driven alongside the best of them, it's extremely potent in several types of racing, it's cheap to run, it's rare, the quality of engineering is extraordinary. It's one of the best cars ever made, need I say more?
In reply to Taiden:
Yes. The collector car world has yet to accept Japanese cars as legitimate collector vehicles, with a very few exceptions, and as of right now, the CRX isn't one of them.

We aren't talking about 20 years from now, we're talking about right now.

$6k. With all that supposed 'work' you'd think he'd spray the wheel wells & valve cover.

I'll go with $10k. I've seen these morons trade S2000s for EF civics and DC2 integras. Some punk with too much money on HondaTech will snatch this at any cost.

By "the collector car world" I assume you mean "the guys who buy E36 M3 from Barrett-Jackson"
Anyone who collects cars is a car collector and they are part of the true car collector world.
I pet there are dozens of japanese car collectors who would pay $11,000 for that example of a CRX Si

....and lets hope the "collector car world" has a Mayan Apocalypse.
"collector car world" = a bunch of bored rich guys that screw up the hobby for the rest of us.

Trading S2000's for EF's? Hmmmm, I did just buy an all original 91 Si from the original owner.
